Its Just the Heater
With the cold weather bearing down on us
again, many of you will be turning on your
heater for warmth. If you smell something
burning when you do, its ok! The coils
accumulate dust and that smell is it
burning . Just open your windows and let
your room air out. Next time you turn it on
it wont smell so bad.

Have you received a fine letter lately?


Nothing can be more surprising as finding
a fine letter in you door or email box. After
many exhausting hours of studying and
work the last thing you want to hear is that
youve been FINED! Inside youll find a
few ways to save this holiday season.

How to prevent being fined


The following are some tips to help you
reduce the chances of becoming a
recipient of a fine.

For residents in the apartments, make


sure your balcony is free of trash, old
decorative lights, unapproved and/or
housing furniture.

Do not remove the window screens, or


use the windows as a method of
entrance/exit.

Do not prop open any exterior locked


residence hall doors. For the safety of you
and others in the residence halls, do not
prop open any residence hall doors
because you don't know whom you may
be letting in!
Do not loan your keys to anyone and do
not attach your keys to your University
ID. Letting someone else use your key can
be considered an unattended guest.

Do not allow guest to stay over past the


visitation hours.

Maintain a clean room.

Do not use window coverings on the


outside of you blinds such as; foil,
blankets, signs, or any other item that
can be viewed from the exterior of the
building.

Stay away from alcohol an illegal drugs.

Do not vandalize any Housing or


University property.

Respect others by keeping noise levels at


an acceptable level.

Report any person behaving suspiciously


to University Police at 337-475-5711.

ecember is known the world around a time of family, food, and festivities, but the holidays are not the only event
happening in that chilly, tree-laden month. The Nobel Prizes, a set of international awards for various topics awarded
annually, were established and first awarded in 1901. The name for the prizes come from the Swedish chemist and
engineer Alfred Nobel. During his lifetime he invented things like dynamite and other ballistics. He was so worried about the way
he would be remember that in his will he indicated that these prizes be established to honor those individuals who have made great
strides to make our world a better and more enlightened place. The winners are announced earlier in the year but the awards
ceremony take place ever December 10th in Oslo, Norway. Here are some fun facts about the Nobel Prizes! And the winners are...
