FADE IN:
EXT. COUNTRY ROAD - NIGHT
A car is driving down, alone, a winding country
road. There are three young teenage girls inside the car,
dancing in their seats to music.
EXT. OUTSIDE COUNTRY HOUSE - NIGHT
Mother is leaning on the front door of the country house,
she is smoking breathing deeply in and out. She looks out
towards the darkness of the night, emotionless. Mother
then chucks the last of her cigarette away and pulls out a
pack of cigarettes from her pocket. She opens the packet,
realising there is none left, with little effort she
crunches and throws the packet onto the floor. Mother then
turns to walk back into the house but stops and turns her
head looking back into the darkness, she hears music
coming closer until she sees the light from a car. She
then fumbles at the handle on the door and rushes into the
house.
EXT. COUNTRY ROAD/ OUTSIDE COUNTRY HOUSE - NIGHT
The car continues to drive down the road, stopping at the
house entrance. Lane gets out the car, she is laughing. As
she begins to walk away from the car she trips over, the
other girls in the car laugh. The girl waves the car away.
Lane pauses for a moment, closes her eyes and breathes
deeply in and out. Lane begins to walk down the drive
towards the house. She reaches the door and fumbles for
her keys inside her bag. Lane unlocks the door and
hesitates, she then enters the house.
INT. HALLWAY AND STAIRS - NIGHT
Lane closes the door carefully and starts to ascend the
stairs. She stops on the fourth step, and freezes when she
hears a noise. She hears the noise again and starts to
descend the stairs. Lane starts to walk down the hall way
towards the sound, she creeps towards a door way and
slowly grasps the door frame and edges her way round.
INT.SITTING ROOM - NIGHT
Lane then relaxes her posture.
Mother is sat on the sofa, she looks up and gives Lane a
weak smile.
Lane comfortably enters the room and sits down on the
opposite sofa to Mother. Nothing is spoken and Lane starts
to look around the room and focuses her attention on a
whiskey bottle.
Mother looks down at her hands, she is fidgeting and
twiddling her thumbs. She looks up at Lane.

MOTHER
Your home late.
Lane looks at the clock puzzled.
MOTHER
I...We...He says that you are the
cause of why we argue and fight.
LANE
He says?
Mother looks at the clock, she panics and stands up.
MOTHER
You need to go now, you cant
live here anymore!
Lane stands up.
LANE
What!?
Mother pauses and looks at the clock again.
MOTHER
I talked to him...the answer is
still the same.
Lane is shocked and does not reply
Mother looks at the clock.
MOTHER
Youve got to pack your things
im taking you.
Mother agitated looks at the clock again.
LANE
You may have given up your
rights, but im not giving up
mine!
MOTHER
Weve got to pa...
Both Mother and Lane freeze. After a second Lane starts to
head towards the door way.
Mother grabs her arm, and Man appears in the door way
blocking Lanes way.
Lane cowers back into Mother.
Mother positions herself directly behind Lane, but she
keeps her focus on Man.

Man steps into the room and stands dominantly in the way
of the door way.
MAN
Oh... is she packed yet?
Man focuses his attention on Mother and looks at her with
disappointment.
Mother looks away from Man, and looks down.
LANE
No im not, im not the one that
needs to be packing.
Man walks a few step forward toward Mother and Lane and
picks up the whiskey bottle and drains the last few drops
in the bottle.
Mother starts to move past Lane and towards Mans side,
she begins to caress his arm and look up at him.
MOTHER
She wont leave.
Mother focuses her attention on Lane.
MAN
You need to leave.
LANE
Are you serious!? Are you going
to back him!?
Mother sniffles and looks away from Lane and down at the
floor.
MAN
Your mother doesnt want you
here!
LANE
NO! You need to leave!
Man takes one step forward towards Lane and slaps Lane
round the face.
Lane falls backward on to the floor, but quickly regains
herself. She snickers and stands up, whilst brushing
herself off. Lane snickers.
Man and Mother stand still. Man looks at Lane with regret
and Mother with disbelief.
Lane begins to walk towards both of them, heading towards
the door way behind them, Lane goes to slide past Man but
stops when level with him.

Man stays frozen.

Lane leans up to his ear.
LANE
I wont leave.
Lane continues her path and walks out the room.
INT. HALLWAY AND STAIRS - NIGHT
Lane continues walking and picks up her bag of the floor,
she then turns round.
Man followed Lane out the room, and quickly comes towards
Lane. Man man handles her.
Lane screams and shout.
Man struggles with Lane and pushes her towards the front
door. Man opens the door abruptly and forces Lane outside.
He then slams the door shut and quickly locks the door.
Lane shouts from outside.
Man instantly walks away from the door and through another
doorway.
Mother stands in door way to sitting room looking towards
the front door.
Lane continues to shout and bang on the front door.
Mother starts to slowly walk towards the front door, she
reaches the door she reaches out for the handle. Stopping
when her hand is a centimeter away.
Lane still shouts but not so violently.
Mother drops her hand to her side, and walks away from the
front door and through to where Man went.
Lane no longer shouts, but bangs on the door. She then
gives up and slumps to the floor.
