monitoring students attendance and behaviour simple.
Using SIMS Lesson Monitor in the classroom can help your
school reduce truancy. You can follow up on unexplained
absences quickly while keeping parents informed with an
extensive range of reports and letters. This allows you to raise
parental awareness and in turn increase parental engagement.
By recording and monitoring behaviour trends as they happen,
you can implement the right interventions at the earliest

Record lesson and
attendance marks
Teachers can record lesson marks in class, and
attendance marks during registration. As a
safeguarding measure, SIMS tracks who has
recorded and edited marks.

Add detail
Add comments and minutes late to any
lesson e.g. Student is due to be at the dentist
for first half of this lesson saving you time
unnecessarily chasing up students.

Flexibility in what you record

Record planned school closure days, ad hoc
or emergency closures, or bulk-enter the
correct codes by group or whole school.

Record conduct directly

from the register
Teachers can enter behaviour and
achievement information without having to
leave the page.

Key information about

your class at a glance
Extra columns on the Take Register screen give
you important information about your students
including SEN status, their conduct today,
whether they are gifted and talented, or if they
have any medical conditions.

Is SIMS Lesson Monitor compatible with
timetabling modules?
Yes, SIMS Lesson Monitor is compatible with NOVA,
our timetabling package.
Can I define my own lesson codes?
Yes, theyll even write back to the statutory codes,
so you can choose the codes relevant to your
school, without having to worry about them at
census time.
Can I still record my statutory AM/PM
attendance?
Yes, SIMS Lesson Monitor still allows you to record
statutory session marks and it is possible to report
on session or lesson attendance, or both together.
Can I define my own reports?
Yes, SIMS Lesson Monitor is compatible with the
SIMS reporting dictionary, which allows you to add
the fields and filters that you want. Lesson Monitor
letters also allow you to define your own content and
styles including your school header, footer and text.
