School uniform is a kind of cloth that we wear in school when

we are studying in school. Our uniforms are in white color and

trousers are in grey color. We need to wear a tie when we wear
the winter uniform. But why do we need to wear uniforms when
we go to school? It is because it gives a sense of pride in school.
If we dont wear uniform, some rich students will laugh at some
poor students because they cant buy some new and beautiful
clothes because they cant pay for some expensive clothes.
There are some advantages to wearing a school uniform, for
example, it is easy to classify students, and it can also avoid some
bullying such as the people who wear some ugly clothes. It can
also make us look smart when we are wearing school uniforms
and it is a school pride. Everyone dresses the same clothes in
school which is an advantage too.
However, school uniforms are no individuality and it is
so expensive and uncomfortable so a lot of students
dislike wearing uniform. It is also easy to get dirty
when we are eating or drinking. We only wear it at
school and there are too many rules in school so many
students are punished in school. It is also old fashioned
and not nice so they hate wearing uniforms.
Although it has many disadvantages of wearing school
uniforms, I think it is a good idea because it can avoid
the bullying in school so the poor students will not feel
unhappy when some rich students are wearing the
same clothes in school. Also, it can let the people know
what school you are studying. So I think wearing school
uniform in school is a good idea.

Nowadays, many high schools require

the students to wear uniforms in school,

while some others dont. It might seem
tidier to put on the same kind of dresses.
However, it is really not good for respecting
childrens right of choices and forming
their individual personalities. Hence, I think
giving the right of deciding what to wear
to students would be better.
Generally speaking, everyone has the
right to decide his/her own lifestyle,
absolutely including the wearing style.
And we cant deny such right simply
because of the students young age.
Just as adults, children can embrace the
dream of being dressed as they want
to. They can also express their attitudes
towards life by different types of wearing.
For example, they will choose to put on
dark clothes when they are sad. Also, they
would like to wear a bright red coat if
they are in high emotion. Wise managers
in school should be able to understand
this feeling and not restrict the colorful
thinking with monotonous uniform.

More importantly, the pressure of wearing

uniform is against the goal of helping
children form an individual personality. In
a school where all the students look the
same, youths desire to think about the
world independently will be hindered.
Gradually, they will be prone to behave
in a common way. Obviously, that is not
what we expected. The teachers should
guide the students to recognize whether
it is beautiful and worthy of pursuit or not,
instead of regulating their clothes to be
one simple style.

In brief, requiring students to wear uniform

is not a good education way. It not only
deprives the students of the right of
choosing wearing style freely, but also
does harm to cultivate their independent
characters. I think schools had better
allow students to put on what they like
and improve the education methods in
the future.

English is very important for
her in the future. She works
hard in English so that she

when she has spare time.
She told me that listening
to music can make her
feel relaxed. Singing and
dancing can make her
body slim and tall. Also, she
likes shopping because
she can buy many stylish
clothes and fashionable
accessories.
She likes playing table
tennis when she is free. She
thinks that playing table
tennis can keep her body
strong and fit.

She is a helpful, clever and

cheerful girl. When I have
problems in Mathematics,
she helps me with my
problems. If Im sad and
unhappy, she tells jokes
to cheer me up. She is
optimistic because she
thinks positive.
Yammy wants to be a

She is working hard now
because she wants her

Michael Chan was bored in Hong Kong. He is my

best friend in school. He turned fifteen in 2011. His father is a
golf coach. His mother is an accountant.
He is good at Math, when the teacher gives us a worksheet.
He can finish it in fifteen minutes and does it all correct. So
that teacher always gives him a lot of prize and he will share
the prize with me. He is also good at English. He always
goes to the language corner to talk to the teacher who
comes from another country such as United States. He gets
great marks in his G.E. exam and oral exam. He just studies
everyday after school. Do you believe it? If no, then you
have to believe it. It is real.
Michaels favorite hobby is football. He plays football every
weekend. He can play football for more than four hours
without stopping. He has won a lot of prizes in football
competitions. I always stay with him in recess time and
lunch time. Also after school we go back home together.
Also I will learn some football skills from staying with him
because I am not good at sports. However I will learn from
him with all my energy.
Michael Chan is my teacher. He always teaches me how
to answer the difficult question. Although I learn very slowly
and misunderstand, he still tries to teach and help me. I
feel really thankful for having this friend. If I were him, I think
I can have the best future job. He can do anything and is
good at the important subjects such as English and Math.
So I want to be him to have a good future job to earn more
money. Then my parents will be happy.

James Lee was born in Hong Kong

in 1996. He was a good student in

Chuen Yuen College and his school
results were excellent. However,
he wanted to be a singer. His
parents did not allow him to be a
singer because they thought that
being a singer has no prospects.
But, James told us that what you
want, you should keep at it! When
he was nine, he joined a singing
contest, SuperVoice 3 and he
got the first prize. His parents had
seen his performance prodigy, so
they did not turn against him to
be a singer again. Therefore, he

embarked on the road of being a

singer.
Now, he is a form 3 student
and studying in The Hong Kong
Academy for Performing Arts.
Although he is just fourteen years
old, he has been the team leader of
a famous team, Boys Generation.
This team has won many prizes in
Hong Kong. The club of fans has
over 10,000! In the next year, Boys
Generation will hold an around-theworld singing concert, with stops
in America, Britain, Seoul, Tokyo as
well as China. They are deciding
to advance Asia first as soon as
possible.
James is a famous singer in Hong
Kong. Although he is young, he is
successful. You can see him or his
team advertising things like healthy
food products, beauty products
and the Hong Kong Tourist Board.
On the other hand, you can see
him in some famous TV programs
like Running Man, Dream High and
High School Musical. The club of
fans is rapidly increasing. In spite
of his success, he is never proud.
Moreover, he practices singing and
dancing so hard every day!
I think James is a smart and a hardworking boy. He has shown us that
just because you are young, you
can still be successful and if you
want, your dream can come true!

If someone asks who the superstar is in Hong

Kong, maybe all of you will say Andy Lau.
Andy Lau was born in Hong Kong in 1961. His favorite
subjects are Chinese History and History. Moreover, he
is crazy about bowling and playing badminton. He really
is a master of both the pen and the sword! Many ladies
see him as a dream man.
Andy Lau is one of the most popular artists in Hong
Kong. He is well-known by his secret of being young
and charming. He still looks like 18 years old now. It
sounds far-fetched but he does. In addition, he is a
singer and actor and he does well in both aspects. He
has got a lot of prizes in singing and acting through the
world since he started his career too. He has performed
over 100 films! Everyone presumes he is the most
successful artist in Hong Kong.
Recently, Hong Kongs paparazzi found that
Andy Lau has already been married. This
incident shocked all the citizens in Hong Kong,
especially his fans. Andy Lau did not reply much
to the news. However, his supporters did not change
their mind, they gave him more support. After a few days,
everything remained as before.
Andy Lau is really close to being a prefect man. He is well-loved by his
acting skills, singing and striving. Everyone praises him because he works
hard as a cow. Although he covered-up the fact of his marriage, people
cannot be furious about that as artists still have their secrets and privacies.
What we should do is to leave the personal space for artists and just enjoy
their performances, not their privacy. The most important is to learn from
them, learn the positive personality. Why dont you learn from Andy Lau right
now?

family was very wealthy. His parents worked in a
hospital. He did not need to be anxious about his
life since his parents took good care of him. He was
so lucky to be born in such an affluent family. He
wasnt a very good student in primary school but
in secondary. He realized that learning was useful
and important to him. With the strong pursuit of
being successful, he studied hard from the age of
six so that he could get a satisfying result. He tried
his best until he became a learning expert.
He went to school when he was five. He was upset
by his classmates jealousy and discrimination.
His classmates thought that he was rich and
unapproachable. He could not make any
friends in primary school. Without the supporting
of classmates, his studies became poorer
and poorer. He even felt bored while learning
in school. However, his parents consolation
and encouragement meant a lot to him. He
realized that the view of others is not important.
Summarizing the reason of his failure, he tried his
best to overcome the frustration. The perseverance
led him to the road of success and got the highest
honor First in form.
Angus Yu is famous in Chuen Yuen College. The
prize that he won was numerous. We can see

of learning gain most of the peoples support.
Angus Yu is a hard-working person. His ability and
wisdom earn our admiration. In regard to learning,
Angus has a unique and a distinctive view. In his
opinion Learning is like rowing upstream: not
to advance is to drop back. The persistence of
Angus is definitely worth learning from.

person. He loves helping new artists to improve their techniques. Many
artists thank him a lot for teaching them and they want to be successful
as him. Moreover, he is very nice and friendly to everyone because he
always has a smile every time and everywhere.
Since he is nice, friendly and smart, many producers want him to be their

well-known because of his cleverness.
I think that Hong Kong is proud of Eric because he had done a lot of good

with people. He is never shy to face the audience, so he can become
a host to international shows. As a result, he has an important position
in society. Nowadays, he is still working hard to gain more knowledge.
Therefore, a lot of people admire this successful person and they also
recognize his success.

Before we go through this topic, I

want to definite the meaning of war

and peace. First, according to the
Wikipedia, War is an openly declared
state of organized conflict, typified
by extreme aggression, societal
disruption, and high mortality. Also
according to the Wikipedia, Peace
describes a society or a relationship
that is operating harmoniously and
without violent conflict.
After definite these terms, we start with
our topic Does war bring peace?
Since people are aggressive, they will
fight against each other to get power
and welfare. The earliest conflicts are
using our hands and legs. As we were
developing, weapons were invented.
Moreover, they become more
powerful.
Due to the winner knowing that war
will bring death and destruction, there
was a peaceful period after the war.
They also knew that they can only
develop in peace.

peaceful, the people will remember

the good things that happened
recently instead of the horrible things
which happen in wars. They will bring
out war easily.
War may cause many problems. For
example, after the First World War,
the post-world problem affected
all war joining countries militaries,
economies, polities and societies.
These caused the Second World War,
too.
Second World War has totally
complete the weaknesses in the
treaty of Versailles which was signed
by four countries after the First World
War. Peace also returns to the world.
In spite of this, this peace is brother
by two atomic bombs with a great
amount of radiation and destroys very
greatly.
War may bring peace, but sometimes
will bring another war. We are in
peace now but we do not know what
will happen tomorrow. So we need to
plan more about tomorrow.

Although war may bring peace,

peace may bring war too. As the
country with a long period of time is

Chuen Yuen
Swimming
Gala

By Wan Shuk Ching

The school swimming Gala of Chuen Yuen College was held on 17th
March (Thursday). I think it was a wonderful competition because it
is held once every three years! I never joined it before and I was very
excited and interested about the swimming gala.
It was held in Shing Mun Valley Swimming Pool. We should reach
the swimming pool at 8:30 am. There were so many styles, such as,
freestyle, butterfly stroke and relay race.
During the event, many athletes were ready to start .Also, all teachers
and students were hardworking they were very cheerful.
Choi Nok Lok 2A LOVE and Sit Kwok Lun 2C HOPE had a furious race.
They were the most famous competitors in the race. It was so exciting!
Then, Choi Nok Lok won and Sit Kwok Lun was 2nd. Although Choi Nok
Lok won this race, Sit Kwok Lun would not get angry. The atmosphere
of the competition was very cheerful and jumpy.
The competition finished at 1:30 pm. Faith House was 1st, Hope House
2nd. Although some athletes failed, they did not give up and finished
the race. They fought for their house until the last second. This attitude
is what I admire and respect most. I think competition is not only a
game but it is a meaning thing. It also can rise up friendship among
students because we encouraged the players of our house.

Should dogs
be allowed on
By Wan Nga Hing
Dogs are our good friends. We often hear this as we
love dogs. Dogs are faithful, loyal and smart. Many
people in Hong Kong want to have a dog. However,
they usually do not since most of them are living in a
public housing estate.
Public housing estates in Hong Kong do not allow dogs
as they may annoy other people who live in the estate if
they bark at night. Besides, their waste may not be welldisposed after their meals. In addition, they need a lot
of areas to run or walk, otherwise, they may feel bored.
Also, I believe that public housing estates do not have
enough places for the dogs.
There are some advantages if dogs are allowed in
the public housing estates, for example, nowadays,
neighbours are not close together, even when they
need some immediate help, they would not ask their
neighbours to give them a hand. Nevertheless, dogs are
friendly so they may make the neighbourhood become
closer and closer. Furthermore, some elders who live
alone may love to play with the dogs, so that they do
not feel alone anymore.
There are also some disadvantages if dogs are
allowed in the public housing estates, as well. For
example, they may not be clean enough if their
owners do not wash them regularly. Hence, they
may carry many germs in their fur and this may
cause many diseases.
To conclude, I think not allowing dogs on public
housing estates is a good idea because dogs are
not hygienic enough if they are not washed by their
owners. Besides, there are no extra areas which are
especially for the dogs to play. As a result, I think
that dogs should not be allowed on the public
housing estates in this crowd Hong Kong.

Teenagers
Problem

Nowadays, many youngsters take drugs like K-pill , Heroin, Opium, Cannabis,
Yaba. Why do they take drugs? There is a lot of pressure in the school life. They
want to find a way for relaxing and their friends suggest them to do some illicit
things like stealing, fighting, violating and taking drugs. Therefore, these are
the reasons why they take drugs.
What will happen to these students after taking drugs? They become the bad
apples in their school. For example, they will be affected by the drugs during
the lesson. Moreover, they will join the triad gangs and let themselves go to
the abandoning. When they dont have enough money to buy the drugs,
they will rob ,do some compensated dating, gamble or prostitute themselves.
Although they woke up from abandoning, they cant stop taking drugs
because they are addicted to drugs .Taking drugs will make you become
grumpy. You will not be happy when you take drugs. It will also affect your
concentration. That will affect your social community. Taking drugs will destroy
your life and family. Not Now, Not Ever. So, taking drugs will not only affect
themselves, but also will affect their family and the society.
On February, 24, two pop stars, Kelvin Kwan Cho-yiu and Jill Vidal were
arrested in Tokyo, Japan for having illicit drugs. They were held in custody.
In conclusion, teenagers are too impressionable and easy to be affected by
others. They love to emulate the pop stars whom they love and appreciate.
Therefore, we really need to focus on this problem and fix this phenomenon.
Stars influence teenagers deeply. The company of the pop stars have to test
or examine the actors and actress. If they take drugs or other bad hobbies.

Britains
Andy Murray
overcame
David Ferrer
After a wonderful tennis match had been played in the

Australian Open, Andy Murray finally overcame David

Ferrer with the score 3 sets to 1 (6-4, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1)

This match was fairly exciting because we didnt know

who was going to win. In the first set, all the audience
was silent as they were waiting for the top two tennis
players, David and Andy. When they came, all the
people shouted with glee. Then the match started.
Their skills were nearly equal. They hit the ball accurately
with power. Not concentrating as the sound of audience
was too big, David made a mistake that made him
missed the ball. Finally, Andy scored a mark and won the
first set. A lot of people yelled because of his success.
In the second set, Andy knew that he needed to be
careful since David could hit the ball very fast. He must
catch the route of the ball or he would lose. After a
marvelous battle, Andy eventually won David with 6
marks. The fans of David got back their hope because
Andy had the chance to win.
However, the result became more obvious in the third
set because David suddenly hurt his leg, he couldnt
move fluently. Andy discovered his condition. Therefore,
Andy moved faster. David could not hit the ball. Finally
Andy scored 6 marks in both third set and fourth set.
That made him won the match. Davids fans were
disappointed as they expected David would win but
some audience had different opinion. Although he lost
the match, he tries his best to hit the ball even though his
leg was hurt! He didnt think about giving up the match.
So I think he is still a good man.
After the match, Andy said, Ferrers an unbelievable
athlete and competitor. He works so hard. I was
expecting and unbelievably tough match and I got it.
