Typical Fixing Details

Wall construction of lightweight metal sheeted buildings is frequently un-insulated, leading to
extremely uncomfortable working conditions or excessive cooling requirements. KIMMCO
Building Roll can be fitted to new and existing buildings to alleviate these problems.
New Construction
KIMMCO Building Roll is fixed at the head of the wall and allowed to drape down the length. The
insulation roll may be fixed to sheeting rails with the faced side to the inside of the building if no
lining sheets are to be used or alternatively by trapping the insulation between external and
internal sheeting. Spacer bars of non compressible material should be used to prevent undue
crushing of the insulation.
Existing Buildings
KIMMCO Building Roll may be installed from within existing buildings by using a "T" bar suspension
grid and liner sheets. The insulation can be cut to suit the size of lining sheet and fixed to the
back of the sheet with adhesive or mechanical fasteners. The lining is then installed in the grid
system in the normal manner.
As an alternative to the above, timber packing strips may be cut to suit the sheeting rails and
screwed in place. Fix the building roll at the head of the wall by screws into the timber packer
with a steel strip placed on top of the insulation directly over the packer. Repeat as required at
other sheeting rail locations, ensuring that the building rolls are closely butted to each other with
the edge flanges overlapping.

KIMMCO KALINING (KKL36) FOR WALL

Description: KL36 is a thermal-acoustical insulation system for walls of residential houses and
commercial buildings. The system consists of a rolled Glasswool panel and metal accessories.
The metal accessories are forming a framework to support the finishing elements (plasterboard).

Application: Thermal and acoustic insulation for retrofit walls of residential houses and
commercial buildings.
Facing & Covering: Kraft Paper.

Performances: FIRE SAFETY: Base fibres are non-combustible when tested in accordance with
BS 476 (part4), ASTM E 84, 136.
MOISTURE ABSORPTION: Less than 1% by volume when tested in accordance with BS 2972 or
6676, ASTM C 553. KIMMCO Kalining does not absorb moisture from the ambient air not water by
capillary attraction. Only water under pressure can enter the insulation products, but that will
quickly dry out owing to the material's open cell structure.
NON TOXIC: KIMMCO Kalining 36 is not hazardous to health. ACOUSTICS: ASTM C 423 - Mounting
A as per ASTM E 795

Installation:

Depending on the type of construction site, 2 to 6 m2 per hour.

Insulation is cut as per distance between floor and ceiling increased by 1 cm.
Plasterboard length will be as per distance between floor and ceiling minus 1 cm

KIMMCO LAMELLA INSUL (KLI)

Description: KIMMCO Lamella Insul is manufactured from stable glass fibres bonded with
thermosetting resins. The fibres are oriented perpendicular to the plane of adhering facing
material. Easy to handle and supplied in roll form.
Applications: KIMMCO Lamella Insul is designed for thermal insulation of pipes, ducts and vessels.
KIMMCO Lamella Insul is suitable for wide range of applications in HVAC and industrial sector
such as:
On large pipes, pipe cluster, or over heating traces, where performed insulation is not
appropriate.
On round or oval duct work, square, or rectangular ducts, where the full insulation thickness on
corners is to be maintained.
On tanks and vessels of various types, particularly under metal cladding or as an additional layer
over existing insulation.
Over decorative roof surface such as demos, arches, etc.
Where load bearing characteristics of insulation are required.

Facing & Covering: ASJ, Aluglass, FSK.
