Christmas Sing-Along/Dance to be held at Walkup Country
Club, St. Rt. 705, west of Fort Loramie. The doors will open at 7
p.m., with music from 8 til 11:30 p.m., with the return of the Fred
Bruns Band.
The public is welcome to attend, with admission of $7 per
person. Enjoy dancing, great music, and great company.
Proceeds will benefit Walkup Country Club.

Emily Kaiser of New Bremen has been named a Resident Assistant at Ashland
University, Ashland, Ohio.
Kaiser, who is majoring in
Creative Writing, is a 2013

Local School and the daughter of James and Pamela

Legend of the Rooster

When Christ the Savior was born that first

Christmas Eve, the heavenly angels cried
in joyful adoration. Their tears of happiness gently fell to earth that crisp winter
night, forming icicles on the edges of the
stable and nearby evergreens. These tiny
pendants of ice twinkled in the radiant
starlight. To this day, icicle decorations
are often used on Christmas trees as reminders of the joy celebrated over the
Birth of Christ the King.

Legend states that the only time the rooster

crowed at midnight was the night that
Jesus was born. In Spanish and Latin American countries, Misa del Gallo, the Mass
of the Rooster, is celebrated at midnight on
Christmas Eve. The crowing of the rooster
at the dawn of each morning symbolizes
the daily triumph of light over darkness and
the victory of good over evil.
