color scheme from the photograph.

Photoshop

Objectives
Learn basic photography skills. Choose a color scheme, then
incorporate the colors into the layout. Use a camera to take a quality
image. Adjust image on separate layers for NDE (non-destructive
editing). Size and crop the image, then place on an 8.511 page layout.
Print with full-bleed margins. Trim only 1/8 (0.125) from all four sides.

Process
I started with a color scheme, or an idea of a color scheme, I was going
to go with a big split complementary. Then I was looking for a gold back
ground, but found this background with a lot of texture, but it was red,
so I needed to switch to Analogous. Then I choose a quote I heard back
home. I needed to create contrast between the text and the red wood
background, so I added the white text box and made it fade behind him.
Then I changed the opacity of the text box to allow the texture of the
wall to show through. Then I extended the box behind him on the other
side to even the photo out. Then I placed the swatches under the text.

Objectives
Write content to describe the process of creating your logo and how it
appeals to a target audience. Acquire a working knowledge of HTML.
Acquire a working knowledge of CSS. Identify hex colors to match logo,
using Photoshop color picker

Process
I first started with the basics, changing some colors in the CSS and
adding in my logo. Then I decided to add in a background image, I
found the image I wanted and took the hex color from my logo and
applied it to the background image in photoshop and gave it the blue
tint. I took four pictures that I have taken of the band Boy Meets World
and edited them together in photoshop. I added that image in before my
first paragraph. I also added in the top bar that is white with a div and
inserted a manipulated version of the fearless logo and added padding
to put it to the right side of the bar. Last I added the slight transparency
to the div that contained the body text.

Objectives
Create an original, new logo and use it in a brochure. Incorporate quality
images. Incorporate at least four quality images. One should be clipped
in Photoshop and text-wrapped in InDesign so the text follows the cutout
shape of the image. Write at least 250 words of original copy.

Process
I started in Adobe Illustrator and image traced a picture of a Canon
AE-1 Program. I then made my Look Around logo in Illustrator and
fixed the kerrning so the word around expands the whole width of the
word look. I then printed off drafts to figure out where to put the back of
the camera so it will print in the right spot. I then made the cut touts of
the people in Photoshop and made them PNGs. Opened Indesign and
created the inside of the camera flap and made the text wrap. I saved
that file and placed it into Illustrator. Then printed it out and cut it.

Objectives
Apply the design principles and use appropriate typography.
Incorporate basic InDesign skills to improve basic flier layout.
Retrieve image and logo from links on this page.
Create a project folder with image, logo and InDesign
document to keep links in InDesign intact.

Process
I chose the sketch that used the Vouant Communications logo as the
influence. I then opened InDesign and tried to increase the size of the
logo given to us. I did so, and it was to low of a resolution to be blown
up. So I found the font Gadugi to use for the letter V in the logo. I then
opened Photoshop and used that to cut out a circle in the photo to be
the circle in the logo. Then I opened and placed it on the document and
placed my text on the letter v in the logo.

Objectives
Create a new logo to fit a company or personal image. Use the new logo
to design a consistent layouts for a letterhead. Apply typography rules,
keeping small copy. Keep designs simple with light watermarks and drop
shadows and plenty of white space.

Process
This letterhead was made in parts. First I created the duck in Illustartor
using the path tool. I then grouped them together. Later I decided I
wanted more contrast between the duck and the white background so
I added the blue pond under him. I then added the text on the bottom,
including my name, phone number, email and address. Next I placed
the logo on the top right cornor to balance the page. To connect it all I
added the blue and yellow lines on top.

Objectives
Create a new logo to fit a company or personal image. Use the new logo
to design a consistent layout for a business card. Apply typography
rules, keeping small copy. Keep designs simple with light watermarks
and drop shadows and plenty of white space.

Process
I started with the first side of this buisness card, the white side, and
just used the duck in the pond illistration I had made earlier for the
stationary. Then I took the shape of the pond and made it green and put
it behind the pond to look like grass behind it. I then added the text and
put the contact information in an order that created a sloping line. On
the other side I wanted words to go with the logo of the rubber duck so
I used the name Debbie to make the company be Debbies Ducks. I used
the front of the duck to make a letter D and continued with the pen tool
to make the other letters.

Objectives
Create three completely different, original logos to fit a company or
personal image that will appeal to the audience. Use only the Illustrator
tools to create and draw logos.

Process
I created an outline of a person doing a one arm stand using the pen
tool. Then I typed out the word Fear in one side and used his arm as the
L for less, and typed out the ess. Then I broke up the word Fearless into
two words to emphasis the meaning and stacked the words to create
a sort of building. In which I placed the guy on top of the building of
letters. For my second one I used the same out line again but added
a diff rent fill and got rid of the stroke. Then I just added the letters F
and R for Fearless Records, placing the R under the letter F so the F had
more value.

Objectives
Unify a layout with a consistent theme and dominant spiritual message.
Learn to blend two or more images together gradually using masks.
Apply typography principles to the text.

Process
I started with the quote; Music is the only thing that makes sense.
That is why there is chaos inside of the out lines of the notes. I started
with the image with the outline. Then I added the second photo. I used
the magic wand tool and grabbed the white from the first image and
filled it with violet, added a mask and faded the violet portions with
the second photo to give it the violet tint. Then I made the copy of the
first picture visible, went to select, color range, I chose highlights from
the drop down menu, then the white part was all that was selected. I
went to select inverse and put the black out line over top of the rest of
the image to create the sharp lines. Next I used the magic wand tool to
select individual notes that I copy and pasted into a different layer and
added a mask to them and made them fade into the bottom. Then I
added my text on last.

Objectives
Comprehend image sizing (how pixels and inches work together)
Find, scan and import a high-quality image. Create a full-bleed design.
Choose a color scheme and typeface(s) that work for your message and
audience. Learn to use only Word design features without using any
Adobe programs, including Photoshop.

Process
I spent a lot of time in the sketching phase. I knew I wanted to use the
pile of mittens but I did not know what else to do. I wanted to left align
the text, Mittens for munchkins but I felt that I should stagger it so
it would mimic the mountains of mittens. Then I felt that the text and
the mountains were two separate elements and that they needed to be
connected. So I went back to the picture and took out individual mittens
and used them to frame the text and connecting the elements.
