ANNOUNCEMENTS

Instrumental Christmas Carols played in Oberholtzer Hall


balcony between morning services on Sunday December 21st.
All wind and string players from 5th grade up through adult are
welcome. Students must be in a school ensemble; easy
arrangements of familiar carols. If this is your first year, Pauline
Fox will meet with you to go over the music. Contact:

Christmas Gifts for Soup Kitchen Attendees: Donations of
duct tape, mens and womens sox and gloves, and new or 2nd hand
toys are needed to provide Christmas Gifts to those attending the
soup kitchen. Please bring A.S.A.P. to Fellowship Hall or church
office.
Ushers Needed for Christmas Eve Services: If you are able to
serve as an usher at the 7:00 p.m. or the 10:00 p.m. service on
Christmas Eve, please contact the church office and give your name
to Maria. Thanks for your support.

December 15 @ 6:00 p.m. - Pleasant Valley
Let's get together and sing some Christmas Carols while roaming
the halls and interacting with individuals throughout the entire
facility! Arrive at 6:00 p.m. and plan to stay an hour. Meet us
there, or arrive at church 20-25 minutes early to ride the church
van.
December 16 @ 6:45 p.m. - Shirley Futch Plaza
Join the Stephen Ministry & choir members in the Lobby and sing
some Christmas Carols for the residents. Park across street behind
Dansbury Depot and meet in lobby.

Rehab Center. Get well cards and notes may be sent to her at 701

Sadness settles on you seemingly without cause, yet it lingers like
the winter fog. A caring, trained Stephen Minister is ready to help
you through the midst. He or she will not judge you or push you
to feel better, but will listen and care for you while you work
through your feelings.

Health Care Equipment
Walkers, crutches, canes, adult potty chairs, shower seats, raised
toilet seats, depends, wheelchairs and more are available to anyone in

Thank you to everyone who made crafts, baked cookies, packaged
and delivered the cookies to our nursing home and homebound
members! You brought evidence of Gods love during this Advent
season to members of the ESUMC family who often feel forgotten!
Have you learned someones name? On the first and third
Sundays of the month, we will continue to wear name tags to help us
get to know each other better. Name tags will be available in the
narthex and on a podium in Oberholtzer Hall. Thank you for
participating in this congregational outreach!

Welcome Center Volunteers Needed for 2015


Volunteers are needed to serve one Sunday a month for:

4th Sunday after the 8:30 service


2nd Sunday after the 9:45 service
All Sundays open after the 11:00 service ( you choose one
or more)
5th Sunday after all services ( choose a service)

Skills needed: Warm smiles with a willingness to share our church's


hospitality. Information about church activities is already at the
desk to be shared.

Wellness Fair/Expo
We are excited to tell you that East Stroudsburg United Methodist
Church is hosting its second Wellness Fair/Expo on January 11,
2015 (snow date of January 18th, 2015). The first Expo was a huge
success and was held in August of 2014. The new mission
statement is

Methodist Church is to connect the community and congregation
seeking physical, emotional, and spiritual growth to the proper
resources in order to nourish and preserve the mind, body, soul and
spirit.

Dodgeball TournamentRescheduled for Friday January


23rd
Youth Ministry Dodgeball Tournament (Fundraiser and
Outreach Event) will be held in Fellowship Hall on Friday evening
January 23rd, from 7:00 9:30pm. $10 per person includes double
elimination dodgeball tournament, pizza, water, and soda. Invite
your friends!! YOUTH AND ADULTS ARE WELCOME TO
PLAY!! Each Team will be made up of 5 people (No more than 3

Youth will be needed to help setup (6:00pm) and Cleanup


(9:30pm).
Heres whats happening this week:
Sr. High Bible Study meets every Monday Night from 6:30
8:30pm
This is a bible study for Sr. High students (9th-12th grade) who are
looking to get deeper into their faith, and grow stronger as a disciple of
Christ. We will have girls and guys combined bible study for three weeks,
followed by girls and guys separate discussions on the fourth week of
every month.
JAM Jr. High Afterschool Program meets every Thursday
from 2:45 5:00pm. Information and Permission forms are
available on the church website (www.esumc.net) and in the youth
room.
For Thursday Dec. 11th and 18th: The youth program will be
joining with the church in an Advent Study Not a Silent Night.
Adults and youth are welcome to participate. The schedule
is as follows:
5:30 6:15pm: Free dinner for all
6:15 7:30pm: Video segment, and small group discussions.
This Sunday Night (December 14th): The timing of 5:30
8:30pm will remain the same, but our schedule of programs will be
a little different, due to the ESUMC Childrens Christmas Play.
5:30 6:30pm: Youth Praise Band Practice will be held in the
youth room
5:30 6:30pm: Sports Ministry will meet in the gym (Fellowship
Hall)
7:00 8:00pm: We will be attending the Childrens Christmas Play
(in the main Sanctuary)
8:00 8:30pm: We will meet in the youth room for a time of
prayer and encouragement.

NEXT WEEK:
Youth Ministry Christmas Party: Sunday December 21st from
6:30 8:30pm in the youth room.
EVERYONE is welcome to attend: Youth, Parents, Volunteers,
Friends, Families, etc.
If you would like to participate in our annual White Elephant (Gag
gift) exchange, please bring a wrapped gift for the exchange.
