port 8. To call out using the PTT feature of this device: a. Select the Control Function. b. Select the port to transmit from. The Virtual Dial Pad will appear. Input the number you wish to connect to. c. Hit the Return Key or Virtual Return. d. RIOS will send a confirmation chirp. Wait for the port to BRONZE.
(2) Start RIOS from the desktop by double
clicking the RIOS icon.
e. SELECT and HOLD the BRONZE to
PTT. The Port will turn RED. Speak into the microphone.
(3) Log into RIOS with your password. By

The RIOS Server will log the user on to the

f. Release the port when the transmission is
complete. When the PTT device responds the port will turn GREEN. Note that the call will remain idle (BRONZE) for six seconds after it is initiated. To force an end to the session select the Backspace Arrow on the Virtual Dial Pad.

(5) RIOS features the ability to input and
store commonly called PTT and phone numbers with the RIOS Phonebook. The following section outline this functionality.
(6) RIOS offers the ability to input a Default
Private ID that allows the user to directly PTT a port without having to select a number.

Virtual Dial Pad will appear.

c. Input the number you wish to connect to.
Select the M Button from the Virtual Dial Pad. d. Select Add from the Virtual Dial Pad. Input the name associated with the number. Select OK.
The number will now be stored within the
Virtual Dial Pad. In addition to Phonebook names, RIOS will also store Last Calls . To access these numbers, select Last Calls after selecting the M Button on the Virtual Dial Pad.
Select the Config Function.
c. Select Nextel for the menu. The Default
Private ID Menu will be shown. d. Select the keyboard icon located towards the right of the menu. e. Input the PTT number and select Enter.
f. Select the Cancel Button located at the
bottom right of the screen. The user can now select and hold the port for direct PTT communications. This feature can be used for a GroupConnect number as well as functionality within patches made with RIOS.
