PROGRAM PROPOSAL

NEED FOR PROGRAM


The program was designed to give children another opportunity to use STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering, and Math) by using a real world setting to build stronger problem
solving and creative thinking skills. This program is very much in line with Enoch Pratt free
Librarys mission to empower and enrich.

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT STEPS

Present program outline to supervisor for review and approval


Input program information into Localist (Web Based Calendar)
Childrens Coordinator reviews description of the proposed program
Program is posted to Enoch Pratt Free Librarys website
Program proposal is submitted to the Compass for publication
Market the scheduled program to community partners and the community at- large
Purchase supplies and materials from vendors our library uses and stores
Set up for event

EVALUATION

Handout Enoch Pratt Free Library evaluation form at the completion of program
Solicit verbal feedback
Input the data on a spreadsheet
Send data to designated person

The Using STEM to Empower and Enrich program will use a real world setting to build strong
problem solving and creative thinking skills. The program is designed to use hands-on activities
to engage young minds through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), that are
fun and interactive. The participants will conduct a science experiment, interact with guest
speakers, and make new friends.
