DFES Environmental Fair

We are excited to announce our first ever 5th Grade Environmental Science
Fair! It will be held on Thursday, January 8 in the DFES cafeteria. Parents of 5th
grade students and PreK 4th grade classrooms are invited to visit the student
presentations from 9:00 10:00 a.m. to learn about what they have been working
on the last 2 months. During this time, we ask that you allow the 5th grade
students to share about their project to help them prepare for their presentations
for the judges. We will have some questions in an envelope by each project. We
encourage you to take out a few and ask away!
The judging will begin promptly at 10:00 and will last until 12:00 noon.
Parents and PreK 4th grade classrooms will be expected to leave during this time
so that the students can focus on presenting with their group. An awards ceremony
will be held in the mini theater on Friday, January 9 from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
We wish your 5th grader the best of luck as they present their projects and
we look forward to seeing you there!

District Five Hosts Second Magnet Choice Fair

Box Tops/Labels Update
Congratulations to Mrs. Caleys 5th grade class for collecting the most
Box Tops/Labels in October! They had the trophy in their classroom
during November. The trophy is now in Mrs. Knowles 2nd grade
classroom for the month of November. Great job! Mrs. Caleys class
remains in the overall lead! A big THANK YOU to everyone who has
turned in Box Tops and Labels! Box Tops send checks out twice a year
and this month we will be receiving a check from them for $1,177.50!!
Princesses, Mark Your Calendars!
Our 5th Annual Princess Ball will be held Friday, February 6 at Dutch
Fork Elementary Cafeteria. The royal details will be sent home in
January.

awarded $250. (We came in 3rd place in October!) The school that
orders the most for the year wins $7500 and a school pizza party! If

Our New Marquee is Here!

Thank you to everyone who
so graciously donated to our
mitten tree! Many hands
and toes will be kept warm
during the cold months of
winter thanks to you!

Our new sign has been delivered, mounted,

and ready to go! The rolling screen will be
visible on both sides of the marquee so cars
going either way on Broad River can view it!
We are so excited about getting this new
marquee that also highlights our magnet
seal! Make sure you check it out when you
ride by!
