Mr. Baker gave an

overview of the Adult
Education Program at
GSCC, which provides
continued educational
opportunities to adults
within our communities.
Mr. Baker stressed that
GSCC is excited to be
able to offer many of
these programs free of
charge to adult
students. Such
programs enable
students, some of which
receive financial
assistance through
DHR, the opportunity to
earn a GED and to

the adult education
programs offer the
chance to gain further
information related to

Changes, Changes
The JOBS Unit was
excited to welcome Ms.
Anica Elder as the
newest member to our
team in September. Ms.
Elder brings with her a
contagious sense of
enthusiasm and
compassion. Ms. Elder is
currently completing
training, and she is
looking forward to taking
on a full caseload soon.

We are also excited to

have Ms. Cassandra
Norton as our new
Independence Through
Employment Counselor.
Ms. Norton has jumped
in with both feet! She is
currently following up
with our clients referred
to the program based on
disabilities. Welcome
aboard Ms. Elder and
Ms. Norton!

The TANF Unit will also

be saddened to lose Mr.
Curley Davis, our
fearless leader, at the end
of the year. Mr. Davis is
retiring after 25 years of
service with DHR. Mr.
Davis truly is a caring,
giving supervisor and
will be sorely missed.
We wish you the best of
luck in your future
endeavors, Mr. Davis!

Participation Rate Update

With all of the prior
changes and upcoming
changes to the JOBS
Unit in the past year,
we are excited to
announce that the
participation rate has
remained above the
goal of 50%
participation!
The JOBS Unit ended
the fiscal year with an

overall 53%
participation rate. The
new fiscal year has
started off with a 57%
participation rate. We
are excited to see what
JOBS can achieve
being fully staffed once
again! In addition, the
FA Unit continues to
complete applications
and process changes at
a 100% timely rate!

If you are aware of a

business or
organization that could
benefit by partnering
with JOBS, please,
contact us with
information.
Thank you again to our
community partners!
We could not do it
without you!
