Financial Literacy Poster Competition!


A money plan is a budget. Posters
should show things students will do
to create a plan for their money.
Students could illustrate:

Setting a goal
Counting their money &
learning how much income
they have
Checking the price to reach
their goal
Saving money for their goal
Tracking how they are
spending & saving their
money

This annual competition is open to all 3rd-12th grade Vermont students. The contest is
sponsored by the State Treasurers Office and the Vermont Bankers Association. The three
top-placing students and their teachers will be recognized at a ceremony in Montpelier on

Prizes:

Winners of each grade division win a $100 cash


prize and their school is awarded a $100 cash
prize for supporting financial education. Students
placing 1st-3rd in each division are encouraged
to attend the April 9 ceremony in Montpelier in
recognition of Financial Literacy Month.

CONTEST RULES

Theme: To build a money plan, I will . . .


Eligibility: The 2015 poster contest features three grade categories:
Elementary: 3rd - 5th grades
Middle: 6th - 9th grades
High School: 10th - 12th grades

Specifications: All posters must be between 8 1/2 by 11 and 11 by 17 in size

(11 by 17 is preferred) and must be submitted on white paper stock.

Submission Deadline: March 11, 2015

Poster Labeling: All posters must be labeled with the following information:

(1) Students Name & Grade; (2) Students School, Address, & Telephone Number; (3) Sponsoring Teachers Name (if applicable); (4) Parent Name, Contact Phone Number, & E-mail.

2015 Poster Contest Rules:

Posters will be judged on expression of theme (50%); artwork style and content (25%); and
creativity (25%). All poster submissions become the property of the Office of the State Treasurer, which reserves the right to reproduce artwork and publish the names of all students
entering, placing and being recognized in the honorable mention category of the competition.
In years with an inadequate number of entries, judges reserve the right to decline to name a
winner in a grade category.
