A TASTE OF INDIA
India have a tropical climate with three seasons: October to March is dry and
cool, April to March is dry and hot, and June to September is the most wet
season, is the Monsoon season. India experience rainfalls and strong winds.
The lanscapes of India are very variated. In the north we can see a mountain
range called Himalaya, and its highest pick is the mountain Everest. In the south
we can trouble a huge flat area when the river Ganges flows. Finally, in the
Southern are a high flat land called Deccan Plateau.
The hiduism is the religion wich most people in India follow. Hindus believe in
gods and goddesses, and they have many festivals, like Diwali. In Diwali
remember the story of Rama and Sita, and people draw rangolis (pattern) on the
floor with coloured powders.
In this religion, the connecction on the river Ganges with its afluents is sacred,
and people built ghats, a plataforms of wood to bathe pilgrims more easily in
the river Ganges. Also, the elephants have been a symbol of India.
The food in India is very colorful and people use very tipes of spices. Indians eat
different meals depending area. Many indians are vegetarian, and Hindu people
don't eat beef, because the cow is a sacred animal.
The Indian word that refers to pulses is Daal, and the butter is different, it's
named Ghee. The saffron, the turmeric and the ginger are spices used in the
Indian meals. Also indians use red chillies and mango in their food.
