Neuron Worksheet

Neurons send messages in a chemical form and then become electric signals; when they are
charged electrically, they are known as ions. Resting potential in a neuron means the neurons are not
working or not firing the electrons or neurotransmitters. When a neuron is resting, it is mostly negative
inside and more positive outside. When they are at rest, potassium ions or transmitters can cross through
membranes easily but negatively charged protein ions or molecules cannot.
An action potential for neuron is when the neurons are active and are sending the information to
another cell or communicating with another cell through axons from one neuron to another neuron. This
is also called a spike or an impulse. Most of the time the size of a spike or impulse is the same.
Sometimes, it works accurately and sometimes it fails in the process.
