Now I will share


about the segmentation, targeting and positioning of IBM to you all. IBM has four parts
of the segment business those are Global Services, Software, Systems and Technology
and Global Financing

Global Services

IBM have about 60 percent income is come from Global Services, basically from
outsourcing and upkeep plans. Inside Global Services, there are two reportable segments
those are Global Technology Services and Global Business Services. Global Technology
Services (GTS) gives IT base and business procedure(pro c jer) administrations(ad mi ni
station), making business esteem(as teem) for customers through remarkable(re marka
bla) innovation(in va tion). Global Business Services (GBS) has the mission to convey
business conclusions to the organization's customers have two main business zones those
are Consulting and Application Management Services.

Software

Inside software, there are two main those are middleware and operating systems software.
Two over three of the revenue(ri ve new) of external software segment of IBM comes
from the renew of license charges and also post contract support. Another one over three
comes from one-time charge where customers pay an upfront payment for a perpetual
license.

Systems and Technology (STG)

It is provided to customer to solve the problem with use the computing power and storage
capabilities. About half of it is server and storage sales.

Global Financing

The main point of the Global Financing is to focus the product and the customer to
ease(e zoj) off the risks many the risks normally associated(a social late) with
finance companies.

The Target Market of BIM

IBM Global Services target market is metals and mining, communications,


government, retail, banking, life sciences, aerospace and defense, financial
markets, automotive, electronics, healthcare, chemicals and petroleum, education,
travel ,transportation and energy and utilities. IBM Global Financing is focusing
on the business and organization that need to acquire the new technological
solutions but have limited funds on hand. Global Financing of IBM will assist
these companies with funding and asset management so that they can acquire their
desired IT solutions for maximize returns of their investments. IBM Software uses
differentiated marketing in selecting its target segments. It offers different
solutions for different applications, industries and needs of businesses. For
example, IBM provides collaboration solutions. IBM Performance and Insight.
IBM Systems and Technology (STG) targets different industries and applications
including mission critical applications such as hospital and banking industries to
keep track of daily transactions and sustaining their daily business to serve their
customers.

Positioning about IBM

This positioning map IBM brand image for customer is a big and old company, it is
because IBM is begin on 1880 to now have 134 years already. And right now IBM have
