Overview
Overview
These instructions support the installation for the CARESTREAM Image Suite V4
Software. The software installation can take 60 to 90 minutes for systems that are using
the WINDOWS 7 SP1 64 Bit Operating System, and 35 to 40 minutes for systems using the
WINDOWS 8.1 Update 64 Bit Operating System.
The Image Suite software connects to CARESTREAM CR and DR capture devices. The
following is a list of CARESTREAM systems that connect to the Image Suite software.
There will be a software installation screen that will ask you to select the CR or DR
equipment that is connected to your system. The subsequent screens will be specific to
your system configuration.

All USB flash drives must be removed from the Image Suite computer.
The computer name must have been assigned using the English alphabet and numerical
characters.
The region and language settings must be set to the region of the installation site to ensure
the Image Suite displays the correct language.
The date and time in operating system must be set to the region of the installation site.
For systems using the WINDOWS 8.1 Professional 64 bit Operating System, you must install
the WINDOWS 8.1 Update for x64-base Systems, from the Windows Update screen.

Windows Update.
The WINDOWS 8.1 Professional 64 bit (Update) Operating System, with the Windows
Update installed, will automatically default to the desktop view when the computer starts
and restarts.
If your system has 2 hard drives that will be partitioned for Image Suite, partitioning
must be done before you install the Image Suite V4 Software. Use the Partition Tool
application on the Image Suite DVD to partition. See the Specifications for the Image
Suite System, 9J0794 for partitioning information.
If your system includes the Classic CR System with the easy view display, you must have
an external Network Interface Card (NIC) installed for the hospital network.
The Classic CR with the easy view display will connect to the motherboard network
interface connection. See Connect to the Hospital Network under the
Help Topics for additional setup information.
If your system is connecting to the DRX System, you will need to set up the IP address
and rename the network adapter after the Image Suite software is installed. See the
Installation and Configuration for the Detector Interface Package, 6K7917.
