We use CRCA pre coated sheets which are highly corrosion resistant
Non yellowing UV stabilised prime acrylic / polycarbonate diffusers
Powder coating with the best quality material to achieve 60 micron thickness coating to guarantee long life &
scratch resistance with excellent nish
99.9% High purity pre anodized aluminium reector for luminaire optics
Specially designed control gear tray along with re retardant wires & sleeves
Pressure die casting to ensure a positive and perfect seating as also for enhanced aesthetics
MIG / TIG / Projection spot welding process used for standard nish
All outdoor poles are hot dip galvanised with 60 micron thickness to ensure resistance against adverse
environmental condition
Stainless steel components, for exposed area, for durability and resist corrosion

Polar Lighting Pole is a contemporary design that is both

timeless and unique in its impression. Compact without visible
mounting equipment and optimised integration, Polar is in
perfect continuity with the geometric lines of the square column.
These assemblies are ideal for surroundings of contemporary

Features:
This architecturally designed galvanised pole is structurally
sound, engineered to withstand adverse conditions. Pole design
parameters vary depending on the type of bracket and loading
factor.
All pole sections are welded using special v groove technique
by certified welders using high end MIG / TIG welding processes.
Built-in control box with service door including lock and safety
chain.
The control gear tray is prewired with MCB, terminal connectors for loop-in loop-out arrangement.
Coated with epoxy zinc phosphate primer and finished using
environmentally stable polyurethane based paint.
Integrated with 42W LED and driver, suitable for operation on

The Kyoto Conference on global warming was held in Kyoto in December 1997 as part of the worldwide effort to address the
potential threat of climate change. This has triggered a review of eco-friendly sources of energy. Solar energy and wind energy have
attracted particular attention. K-Lite is making an effort to develop solar-powered systems as well as hybrid systems (combining solar
and wind power) that make maximum use of these renewable sources of natural energy. K-Lite is also undertaking R&D to devise the
ultimate eco-friendly lighting system that will take the lead in the coming years.
Features in a Solar System :
Suns light contains energy. Our Earth receives roughly 1000 watts of solar energy per square meter of land area. Solar power is the
conversion of sunlight into electricity. The basic and underlying principle is that, the sun rays incident on photo voltaic cells produce
electricity ( direct current ), which is stored in a battery and the stored power of the battery is used for lighting. Hence the system
consists of (a) Solar PV panel, (b) DC Battery, (c) Charge controller to regulate the charging of battery, (d) electrical load such as
street lights, home lights and fans etc., with accessories such as poles for street lights, power conditioning units for solar homes etc.,
Solar Photo Voltaic (PV) Panels :
Multi crystalline Photo Voltaic Panels which converts the solar rays into electricity to charge a
12/24 volt battery is mounted with a tiltable bracket (to enable the module located at an
angle corresponding to the latitude of the place) at the roofing / terrace for solar homes or
on a tubular pole for street lighting . The PV panel capacity is designed on the basis of (i) the
electrical load for which the power is to be generated, (ii) the number of burning hours
desired by the customer and (iii) the autonomy or otherwise called as reserve days. The PV
panels supplied by us are of multi crystalline type and outsourced from reputed vendors
approved by Ministry of Non Conventional Energy (MNRE). The PV panels are rated on the basis of one day consumption, the
luminaire load and the losses in auxiliaries. The ratings of the solar panels are given as so many watt power (Wp). For a multi crystalline silicon module the average area requirement per 1000 Wp ( 1 kWp) solar panel is 100 to 120 sq ft . Our Modules are characterized by (i) High-quality cells, (ii) Wide power-range, (iii) Bypass diodes to avoid effect of partial shading (iv) Anodized aluminium
alloy frame, (v) Tempered glass for rugged protection.,(vi) ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facility, (vii) IEC 61215 certification by
Euro Test and TUV and (viii) Competitive price-performance ratio.
Batteries
DC battery(ies) store the energy generated by the solar PV panel(s) during the day and deliver it
during non sunshine hours. The solar application needs a deep discharge battery . The most commonly
used forms of solar batteries are deep discharge sealed maintenance free lead acid batteries. .Normally
12 volts battery is used unless the application and the load handled, warrant differently with 24 volts
system.
Solar Charge Controllers
In order to regulate the charging of batteries ( over charging) from the PV Panel output and excess drain
(over discharge more than the capacity) to the load and the consequential damages, a charge controller
is provided . The charge controller is generally a programmable type which can be set to operate the
luminaire from dusk to dawn. Timer setting option is also available. Technical Parameters for a standard
controller are (i) Nominal Voltage : 12 V, (ii) Boost Voltage : 14.5 V, (iii) Equalization Voltage : 14.8 V (iv)
Float Voltage : 13.7 V, (v) Low Voltage Disconnect : 11.4 V when controlled by state of charge, 11.0 V
when controlled by voltage and (vi) Load reconnect voltage 12.8 V.
Solar Street Light Systems :
Solar Street Lighting is configured to be a standalone system for remote areas with no electricity / off grid applications or for grid
connected applications. The system consists of (a) Solar PV panel, (b) DC Battery, (c) Charge controller to regulate the charging of
battery, (d) luminaire with its accessories and (e) a street light pole with a control box .The following are additional.

Features of a solar street lighting system :
Totally anti corrosive decorative / conventional poles with GI tubular sections
Energy saving category of Street lights with LED or CFL or T5 lamp as per customer preference
Light Source :
The luminaires used for solar street light systems are generally LED luminaires with power
LEDs with an output of around 90 to 120 lumens per watt . The luminaire is integral with the
heat sink etc., and supplied with the required accessories such as LED drivers. The luminaire is
mounted with a specially designed bracket on to the pole.
Control Box:
The system is supplied with an enclosed control box with locking arrangement to house the battery, charge
controller, driver (if it is not integral to the luminaire) and any other accessories. This box can be either
mounted on to the pole (for small systems with low wattage luminaire and a single battery) or separately
on a pedestal near the pole
Pole :
The Galvanized pole with swaged construction and base plate is designed for surface mounting on the foundation to be provided .
The pole with the street light bracket, control box and tiltable solar panel bracket is nished with a colour choice of polyurethane
base coat . Split construction arrangement with tiltable brackets for solar panel enabling the mounting of panels in the desired
direction
Maintenance of Solar Street Lights:
The pole with the base plate should be erected on a foundation in such a way that the control box, if integral with the pole is at a
reasonable height to prevent water entry during ooding in rainy season. If the control box is separately located on a stand alone
foundation near the pole, here again the base of the control box should be arranged at a reasonable height, to avoid ingress of water.
The system is supplied with a fully charged battery(ies). If the system is not put into use with the solar panels or if there is a
continuous no- sunshine days over the planned number of days, the batteries will get discharged . Before the batteries get discharged
below the limits, it should be recharged from external supply as otherwise it becomes non-serviceable.
Cleaning of battery terminals.
Applying any chemicals for cleaning the PV panel will damage them and hence should be avoided.
The control box, whether it is integral with the pole or erected separately near the pole, should be maintained periodically.
Word of Caution on Solar Power Generation :

The selection and rating of the PV panel is based on the condition that the panels are located in open areas with a good sun shine in
all directions. If shadows are cast over the panels due to adjoining trees or buildings in any side, it will effectively reduce the solar
insolation over the panel and result in delayed or no charging of the batteries and hence the lights may not switch on at dusk with
low battery charge condition. Similar situation may occur if dust settles over the PV panels and cleaning is not done periodically.

Terms and conditions

1. This price list is effective from 20.09.2013 and supersedes all the earlier ones.
2. The prices are ex works CHENNAI.
3. The prices are subject to change without any prior notice.
4. The prices are inclusive of Excise duty and Education cess at the prevailing rates but exclusive of taxes, octroi and any other statutory levies as applicable at the
time of supply.
5. SEZ & Export : ED components in the price will be exempted against proper documents.
6. The prices of luminaires (except LED luminaires) are exclusive of cost of TUBES / LAMPS.
7. For the non-integral luminaires, the cost of control gear box / tray as applicable are extra.
8. The price of poles (exclusive of Cobra, Tusker, Kalinga, Harpanch, Exendra & Areo) does not include cost of Luminaires, Lamps, internal cabling from
control gear box to top of the pole.
9. Our prices are inclusive of Foundation Bolts (except for the High Mast).
10. Colour choice other than standard finish (as indicated against the items) will be charged extra at 10% for normal and 15% for metallic finish.
11. Order shall accompany with an advance of 30% and balance against Proforma Invoice.
12. For any special packing, charges will be extra.
13. Sketches are not to scale. General manufacturing tolerances are applicable to the dimensions furnished.
14. Efforts are always on to improve the design and methods to manufacture. Hence actual dimensions are subject to changes without prior notice.
15. In view of continuous innovation & improvement, under R&D K-Lite reserves the right to make changes in the data / details without prior notice.
16. Disputes, if any, are subject to CHENNAI jurisdiction only.
