Proshield XT Water Repellent Masonry Treatment
Proshield XT Water Repellent Masonry Treatment
Saves energy
Wet masonry and penetrating damp - When walls get wet through water
penetration, they become less effective at keeping heat in.
As the UK climate is getting wetter, this is becoming a big problem. Even
in older cavity wall construction, when the insulation gets wet, it loses
much of its insulating qualities which makes it ineffective.

Application Guidelines
ProShield XT is available as a clear finishing cream treatment for brick
facades, clay roof tiles, block paving and mineral surfaces.
On dry surfaces of brick, cement, concrete and tile. We recommend a moisturecontent below 45% (ideally measured with a Pinless Moisture Meter). Apply
directly to dry, porous surfaces. ProShield XT should not be applied over
sealed or painted surfaces and only apply when rain is not forecast for 24hrs.

After
Treatment
It is advisable that older surfaces are first cleaned thoroughly with a low
pressure washer and allowed to dry before treatment. Remove any loose mortar,
fragments or dust using a masonry brush and any degraded mortar joints should
be renewed.
Surfaces with strong discolouration, algae or moss growth (as well as heavily
soiled surfaces) should be treated with an applicable biocide, such as
ProClear, and finally rinsed with water before treatment. When the surface is
visibly dry (after about 24 hours depending on weather, wind and temperature),
ProShield XT can be applied.
Apply with brush or roller. Apply about 1 litre of ProShield XT per 3-5 m2
depending on surface age, property and absorbency. One treatment is sufficient
for most normal surfaces. Additional treatments should be carried out within one
hour of first treatment.
ProShield XT is colourless when cured, however some darkening may occur
on some substrates. Always make a test coat to ensure the compatibility of
product and surface.
CAUTION Care should be taken to ensure ProShield XT does not come
into contact with glass, glazing, plastic or plants.
