What we need to do is get together and make a difference in our community
by talking and getting together and finding ways to stop the negatively. I
would like to start out by calling out all groups, organizations, churches,
individuals, etc, to get together and make plans to not only get kids off the
streets but to find mentors, start clubs, build projects, and do whatever we
have to do to get people out of jails and out of the cemetery. Can this be
done? Yes it Can. It starts with you! Yes you can make a difference! You
can be a proud leader by just signing a petition to get convicts jobs! You can
be a proud member and donate cell phones to non profits such as Stop the
Violence South or People against Rape. You can open your mouth and
volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club or the YMCA. Yes you can make a
difference in one person life.
I, Felicia A. Rivers, the CEO of GeeChee One Magazine, wants you to pick
a weekend out of 2010 and plan a event that promotes the 365 Days of
Peace. WE will totally help you advertise and promote through our website
and print publication. Things that you can do is pass out fliers or pamphlets
demonstrating or explaining some type of violence whether it be domestic,
gang violence, rape, that needs to stop. We can put on small plays and
charge a small fee that we can donate to a non profit organization that helps
out victims of violence. There is so much you and I can do. There is no
excuse to not be part of the 365 Days of Peace. The question now is, “What
are you going to do?”

moved from creating some of the most important inventions in
the world, and multiple scientific discoveries that have saved
untold millions of lives, to (some of us) waiting to be handed
money?
Not only that, but why is it that in a mere 40 years we have gone
from a people that led the nation from a mindset of prejudice
and segregation to that of subservience. Dr. Martin Luther King
never advocated that, Malcolm X never believed that. Both men
were conservatives, especially in the political world of today. Yet
Conservatives that are Black today are shunned and rejected.

Dating in high school is dramatic: He kissed her? I thought he liked me! Will he tell all his friends if we go to second base? If I ask him to
the dance, does that mean we're dating? And if we're dating, is he my boyfriend?
As an adult you're more mature, but grown-up dating is fraught with it's own challenges: Why hasn't he called me back? When do I
introduce him to my kids? When do we go from friend-with-benefits to dating? And if we're dating, is he my boyfriend? OK, maybe it's
not so different from high school, after all.
One question certainly remains the same: what do you call the guy you've been seeing for the past few weeks? It's a question of status,
but as an adult, it's also a question of word choice. Because, as Big asked Carrie in the "Sex and the City" movie, when you're both
adults, isn't he a little old to be your boyfriend? It sounds so, well, high school.
In the spirit of maturation, GeeChee One is presenting you with 10 alternate names to call your man. Try these on for size.
