Standard pre-trimmed sizes of stocks used by printers

Sizes for publications with bleeds to be trimmed (in mm):
SRA0 = 900 x 1280 (when cut produces 16 A4 sheets, 32 A4 pages)
SRA1 = 640 x 900 (when cut produces eight A4 sheets, 16 A4 pages)
SRA2 = 450 x 640 (when cut produces four A4 sheets, eight A4 pages)
Sizes for publications with no bleeds to be trimmed (in mm):
RA0 = 860 x 1220 (when cut produces 16 A4 sheets, 32 A4 pages)
RA1 = 610 x 860 (when cut produces eight A4 sheets, 16 A4 pages)
RA2 = 430 x 610 (when cut produces four A4 sheets, eight A4 pages)
(When designing artwork bear in mind that it can work out more economical to
produce a very large quantity of brochures or booklets at 210mm x 198mm in
gangs of 16 pages, as there can be less paper wastage than with other sizes.
This is why you often see university prospectuses at this size.)
Quad (uncut) sheets used for book production:
When specifying uncut sizes for book sheets be careful because there are metric
versions and imperial versions of different sizes with the same name. Sizes are
given in mm (inches in brackets for imperial sizes).
Crown (Metric) = 768 x 1008
Crown (Imperial) = 762 x 1016 (30 x 40)
Large Crown (Metric) = 816 x 1056

Book sizes are often specified in terms of the quad (uncut) sheet size names and
whether the sheets have been cut into eight pages (trimmed octavo) or cut into

four pages (trimmed quarto). Octavo and quarto are sometimes abbreviated to
8vo and 4to respectively.
