Greetings to the members of the KB

Its that time again when I get to my

moments to share some thoughts with
you, highlight some developments and
set the path for the next quarter.
Since we last spoke in August last year
so much has happened nationally
and locally, right here at KB. On the
national scene we experienced a change
of government; we wish the new

successful tenure.

I now turn my attention to some very
important things that have taken
place here at KB. The consultancy of
Dr Grace Martin Hall has come to a
close after almost two years of intense
consultations and discussions. The process was not a particularly easy one but
it offered us a welcome opportunity to
evaluate our systems, identify the weak

Pointers for Holy Week

(Presented at the Blessing of the Palms
service held in the Stony Hill Square on Palm
Sunday, April 1. While written with Holy Week
in mind, KB Newsletter is recommending the
tips for all seasons)

1. (H) Halt! Stop for awhile, or al least slow

down. Take time to rest and relax. Your
body needs rest, so find time to be still.
2. (O) Off with your worldly pursuits and
concerns. Turn off your cellular phone if
you have to, so that you can focus on your
spiritual life this week.
3. (L) Listen. If you are in the Off or Silent
mode, then you can really, listen, pray and
meditate. Take time to listen to God and tell
him whats happening in your life.
4. (Y) Yield to God. Let go of your grip on

Christmas Messages

greetings to the KB family. Please see excerpts from
those messages below) The Editor

season will impact the other activities,
in particular the General Elections. Please
accept very best wishes for a Holy and
Happy Christmas from the Fuller family to
your family.

Christmas gift suggestions:

To your enemy- forgiveness; To an opponenttolerance; To a friend - your heart; To a

customer - service; To every child - a good
example; To all charity ; To yourself,
respect.

reason for this season, so while we are out

your own life. Be on the lookout for His

road signs as you travel on. Listen to His
instructions, and you will find your way.
Better still, let Him do the navigating and
the driving.
5. (W) Warm up your relationships.
Time to allow your loved ones to feel that
warm-and-sunny-spring you: not the
cold-and-cloudy-winter you. Reach out
to the people you have taken for granted
or left out altogether.
6. (E) Erase the burdens of guilt and
sin with a good, honest and humble
confession. Heed Gods call: Come back
to me, with all your heart. Dont let sin
keep us apart. Long have I waited for
your coming home to me

Christmas

is a time of giving and

sharing. It is the time to feel the joy and
happiness of being alive and blessed,
to be loved and remembered with the
gifts, thoughts, wishes or bb messages
received. It is also the time for loving
and forgiving... May this Christmas be
a Joyous and holy one for you and your
loved ones
and
remember :Christmas is not a time nor a season,
but a state of mind. To cherish peace and
goodwill, and to be plenteous in mercy,
is to have the real spirit of Christmas.

7. (E) Express your love. Whatever you do,

especially this week, like praying, let them all
be expressions of your love and gratitude to
God, Let them be done not out of fear, or out
of obligation.
8. (K) Kneel down. In humility, kneel down
in prayer before God and thank Him for suffering so much, for dying on the cross and for
rising again for our salvation. Somebody died
for you and me. Let us not allow this week to
pass without personally thanking Him.
Thanks to Mrs Jackie Irons JP, Executive Member of
the LMA (Kingston chapter)

et Christmas be a time that is set apart for

thinking of those who are dear, who hold a
special place in our hearts. May the love of
God warm your hearts ; may you
forever cherish the memory of what this
season imparts. Remember always, it is not
the gifts that are wrapped and placed under
the Christmas tree but the Christmas that
lives within our hearts that will make
a difference to you and me.

Eurozone, and some developments in the

USA, 2012 will prove to be another
challenging year for us all.
Let us pray for our families, our country,
and our leaders, that God may grant them
the wisdom to lead us in the path of
prosperity, and development. Let us also
seek Gods guidance for our organization,
while we do our part to contribute to its
advancement and development. We all
must face the challenges of 2012, and seek to
make the best of the year ahead.

Stationery Department
Its

that time of year when all around the

world everyones happiness is likely to be in
sync. It is that time of giving gifts, creating
and sharing memorable moments with
family members and loved ones.
It is also that time of year when we, here
at KB, reflect on our performances and
achievements as a unit and as an
organization. Throughout the year and
especially during the back to school season
we have performed creditably inspite of our
ailing economy, amidst the rise in cost of
production, increased competition as well
as the direct challenges to our industry via
modern technology.
We were able to expand our line of
inventory
moderately through
the
solicitation of some new suppliers which
arose out of our visit to the Frankfurt
Stationery Show in Germany. Further to
this initiative, we have secured, in principle,
exclusivity for the distribution of some of
these suppliers products in Jamaica.

12

I think it would be fair to state that a

number of these new items did well
both in our retail stores and with our
resellers. Additionally, arising out of
the strategic planning process, we have
made major changes in the structure of
our unit which has greatly improved
our operation although there is room
for improvement.
On a lighter note, the unit also credits
four of its staff members who played
an integral role in the achievements of
the organizations first Business House
Football team. Our units own football
team Stationery Madrid topped off a
fine year of sporting activities by taking second spot in KBs annual football
fiesta, a feat worthy of congratulations.
Overall I am indeed satisfied with our
efforts to improve our product line in
regards to variety and availability and
with respect to the overall service that
we offer.
I look forward to greater improvements
in the coming year and beyond

The IT team is very excited about the way

which is reinforced through constant
practice. We also intend to introduce other
exciting new stuff later on in the yearso
look out for the details.
As a unit, we have been putting things in

created history by
becoming one of the first
teams in the Business
House Football Five-a-Side
Competition to have won
silverware in their first
season of entering the
competition. KB Football
Team was presented a trophy
for emerging as Group Two (2)
winners. This indeed was a HISTORIC
feat.
The Team came, stood out above the
rest and mastered the art of winning.
Their impressive record of Eight (8)
wins and three (3) losses saw them
amassing 24 points in the first round.
So impressive was KB that at the halfway stage of the competition they were
One (1) of Two (2) unbeaten teams.

This
afforded
them
the
opportunity to enter the quarterfinal stage (second round) of the
competition where they were placed

planned for KB who surprisingly
lost all their games.
