Thornton Tomasetti 'S Jesse Chrismer Named To 'S Top 20 Under 40 List
A panel of independent judges rated the nominees taking into account industry experience,
education, professional leadership and community involvement. Candidates with the highest
composite scores were selected for the award.
Key Points
During his decade-long career at Thornton Tomasetti, Chrismer has been involved with
several iconic New York projects, including serving as the structural site representative for
the new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and leading the foundation design for the Barclays
Center in Brooklyn. He was also the project engineer for the Panasonic headquarters in
Newark, N.J, and for the firms flood resiliency work at 55 Water Street in Manhattan
following Sandy. Chrismer is currently leading the structural design for Rogers Place in
Canada, the new home of the Edmonton Oilers NHL hockey team.
Chrismers active involvement in the ACE Mentor Program has earned him its 2013 New
York Mentor of the Year and ACE National Exemplary Mentor awards. His role in the
development of the Bronx ACE mentor team has turned it into one of the most popular and
active ACE teams in New York.
He holds a bachelors degree in physics from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colo.,
and a masters degree in structural engineering from Columbia University in New York.
Chrismer is an adjunct professor at the Pratt Institutes undergraduate School of Architecture
in Brooklyn.
