Youth: Any person sixteen (16) to eighteen (18)

Youthful Offender: The legal status of persons
who have been arrested for a crime committed
when they were between the ages of 16 and 18
and who meet other requirements. All 16- and 17year-old defendants are treated as youthful
offenders, except those who have been charged
with certain felonies, have already been convicted
of a felony on the adult docket, or have been
adjudicated as a serious juvenile offender. For
