3.0 THE JIDICIARY ELECTRONIC BOARD SYSTEM.

Electronic Board system; is a form of electronic display that show information, advertising and
other messages. Essentially any form of digital display, such as a TV, which is used for showing
notices, public announcements is termed as an electronic board/Digital signage.
Electronic boards are found in many places including:

factories, art galleries company

reception, hospitals mainly for advertising hence marketing their products.

For the judiciarys case the electronic board displays content inform of bulletin (a brief
statement, as of news or events)

The figure above is what the electronic board system of the judiciary appears like it contains the
date, time, venue case number, parties involves and the judge handling that specific case.

3.2 THE JUDICIARY USES THE XIBO SOFTWARE FOR ELECTRONIC DISPLAY.
Xibo is an open source software package which provides high quality digital signage that
displays content quicker, easier and more effectively.

Text; any material that can be read including signs and symbols

Images; an artifact that depicts or records visual perception, for example a twodimensional picture,

Video; is a moving image, could also be an animated display.

3.2.2 FEATURES OF XIBO

Centrally managed from aweb administration panel (PHP/MySQL) and distributed over a local
network or the Internet to one or more clients.

Simple and easy to deploy. In such a way that even non technical individuals can install
xibo by getting help from the xibo community

Open Source Multiple layouts, multiple content mediums, and multiple schedules in multiple
locations for xibo, are all free

Wide range of media support mainly because of its free services and excellent
functionality.

Does not require specialist hardware

Runs on Windows, Ubuntu and Android

3.2.3 HOW XIBO WORKS?

Xibo is a client/server application.
SERVER SIDE

CLIENT SIDE

The Server
The Xibo server is a PHP/MySQL web application which can run on Windows/Mac or Linux. It
is the central administration interface for the display network.
The server is used to upload content, design layouts, schedule content to the display and various
other administration tasks.
The Client
A client is essentially a display (TV, projector, etc) which you will use to show content. Each
client can have its own schedule of content and layout on screen. Xibo will run on a PC behind
the screen, communicate with the Xibo server and display what its told. It will also report back
exactly what has been displayed and for how long.

3.3 BENEFITS OF ELECTRONIC BOARDS

Electronic boards keep employees informed of company news hence promoting effective work
place communication as the judiciary digital signage shows the date, time, venue, case number
parties involved and the judge handling the specific case there by each employee is aware of the
due process

Electronic boards enable the public to access information in a quicker and more effective manner
as people dont have to make unnecessary consultations and phone calls as all the news and
information can be viewed from the digital signage
In the business sector electronic boards are mainly used for adversting products, services for
specific companies as a form of marketing.

Data Entry Clerk: who updates the information on the electronic board.
Programmer: Customizes the source code according to the judiciary.
