along with his wife Lauren, has just learned that he has a very rare disease called neuromyeli-
tis optica. This is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks the optic nerves
and spinal cord. Taylor has already lost vision in one eye, partial vision in the other, and has
some tingling sensation as well as pain in his feet and legs. He and his family are currently in
Minnesota at the Mayo Clinic. He is receiving a plasma exchange every other day over the
next two weeks to hopefully reverse the initial effects of the disease. We can assist this
process and support the Wheelers by designating Taylor as the recipient of blood products
donated through any organization. The program is called “Credit to Patient.” There is a blood
drive scheduled in Taylor’s name Friday, January 22 from 1 - 5 pm at the Keller Williams NW
Office, 5629 NW Classen, Oklahoma City, OK 73118. You can contact Taylor’s mother-in-law,
Janet Helms, at 405-921-0572. We are also working on scheduling a special drive in the near
future at the church. Please donate blood products in Taylor’s name.
