PROJECTS COMPLETED

Autonomous Car Parking:

Created an RC car that can identify the car space and park itself.
The RC car checks for sufficient space by making use to the distance sensors.
Intelligently identifies the space of the parking bay and parks the car parallel
automatically.
Embedded Microcontroller and motor driver used to process the sensor signal and
control the wheels of car smartly and efficiently.
DESIGNING AND IMPLEMENTING AN IEEE SINGLE PRECISION FLOATING POINT
UNIT:

In this project we worked in a team of two to design develop and implement an IEEE
Floating point adder and subtractor circuit that can either carry out add or subtract and
complies with the IEEE single precision floating point format.

The standard specifies a 32- bit word, with the first bit as the sign bit, the next eight bits
are the exponent bits and the last 23 bits are the fraction. The Design Coding also
included coding for the exceptional or special cases in the IEEE single precision floating
point format and also normalization of operands were done if required.

The whole system was implemented on the FPGA (Nexys3) and the correctness of the
operation was measured. The RTL design coding was done using VHDL.The challenging
part of the design was to effectively use the available features in the board to implement
the design in Hardware.
Remotely viewable Heart Rate of a patient and tracking ambulance using GSM and
GPS Module:

Monitoring the Patient health (Heart Rate) instantaneously using the Heartbeat sensor.
Tracking the Ambulance using GPS, which is carrying the patient and communicating to
the authorized person in the hospital using GSM system.
Parameters sent are heartbeat rate, humidity and temperature.
Wireless Sensor Network Based Patient Monitoring System:

Remotely monitoring physical parameters like ECG, EMG signals using Bitalino Board.
These signals are transmitted wirelessly using Bluetooth module to the PC.
3-Axis accelerometer was used to monitor the patient body moments wirelessly.
Web server page was created for acquisition of these bio signals.

ACADEMIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Assistant for Undergraduate courses Signal Processing and Communication.

Mentoring Undergraduate students in the completion of their Senior Design Project.

Active participant in various technical events such as workshops or symposium.
