SAP Test Workbench for Test Management

Description:
This documents shows how the SAP test workbench can be used to manage tests
and test cycles and test status reporting. This should by no means be
considered a complete description of the functionality of the test
workbench. This document focuses on test management and reporting, and
does not go into test types, project/test integration, etc.
Tests:
Tests can be defined via the Computer Aided Test Tool (transaction SCAT).
Test attributes include Test Title, Test Type, Component, Description, etc.

Test Catalog:
Tests are grouped together logically to create a test catalog. A test
catalog would contain all tests of all types. These tests can later be
grouped together in test test plans.

Test Plans:
Test plans allow you to select a subset of tests from the test catalog and
group them together to accomplish a certain task (for example integration
testing).

Once you have assigned all relevant tests to a test plan, you can group
certain tests together into a test package and assign them to an individual
who will then be responsible for executing those tests.

Testing:
Once the responsible individuals have been assigned tests, they can log on
to the system and call their test worklist to review tests for which they
are responsible, review any instructions for the test.

Once they have executed tests, they can set the status of those tests in
the test workbench.

While it will not be discussed here, additionally, you can use the service
desk solution in Solution Manager to track and work errors encountered
during testing by creating messages for failed tests.

Test Plan Tracking:

Individuals responsible for tracking the status of the tests can do so
within test plan management.

Additionally, a Microsoft Word status report can be generated (attached).
