MY ENGLISH
CLASS
The idea for this stem-poem came about when a
former student visited. This student by the name of
NANA (SPM 2012) has always been passionate about
English and she shared how this stem poem A
person in my English class was done by her English
lecturer at Uni and how effective this activity was in
promoting creativity and fun. Through this poem,
students were told not to reveal the friends name
(that person in their English class); yet to keep the
readers wondering who the poem is about based on
personality and/or physicality. The poems A Person
In My English class were written by the boys of 4
IBN SINA & 4 IBN NAFIS while the girls were sent
away to gather creative input elsewhere.
A PERSON IN MY
ENGLISH CLASS
There is a person in my English
class
Who always smiles from ear to
ear
This person has a charming
personality, but not bossy
I envision him as a leader in the
future.

A PERSON IN MY
ENGLISH CLASS
A mysterious person in my
English class
There is a person in my English
class
Who wears spectacles
A quiet person,
With eyes like an Egyptian,
Her skin smooth as flour in a
Tupperware,
I wonder what it is that goes
inside her mysterious head is

A PERSON IN MY
ENGLISH CLASS
There is a person in my English
class
Who wears an extra pair of eyes
The persons physical body is
quite muscular
Has a powerful voice that can
conquer
Always sneezing out loud
No this person is not a man
She beats the voice of a dinosaur.

A PERSON IN MY
ENGLISH CLASS
But sometimes his jokes
offended me,
But one day, he was so quiet in
the English class.
I tried to make jokes for him.
I felt relieved to see him smiling
SAFWAN CHE, 4 IS
A PERSON IN MY
ENGLISH CLASS
When she speaks, she is
courteous and polite
I love to see her gloomy brown
eyes
And her skin- flawless like her
heart
She is so ravishing
But not every boy agrees with me
I guess it is true
Beauty lies on the beholder of the
eyes
As for me
She is the perfect human being.
There is a person in my English
Class
Who has a pair of puppy-dog
eyes,
Sometimes she looks like a teddy
bear,
Sometimes she just acts like a
child, eating ice-cream,
Her smile makes my heart melt,
Just like a piece of cheese melting
on the overcooked burger.
