5. If the answer can be either yes or no, we add the suffix __________ to the _________ word in the sentence.
6. If you expect the answer to be YES, we start the sentence with ________________, which is a contraction of
____________ and __________.
7. True or False: The syllable ne is never translated and never used alone.

Answer the questions. Make sure you read pp. 131-132 again. Remember, there are two types of questions:
1) information questions using an interrogative word (adv or pro): These require specific additional
information to create a logical answer.
1) Yes/No questions. In Latin, if you expect a YES answer, start the question with Nonne. If you dont know
what the answer will be, add ne to the 1st word in the question.
And just think about the logic of your answer would it make sense in English? For example, if the question is
Ubi portas ranam? (Where are you (sg) carrying the frog?) the verb of your answer CANNOT be portas. You
logically would answer Im carrying the frog to the house and so the verb in your answer must be porto. Just
think about it. Your answer has to be Ad casam ranam porto.
For the questions below, first identify the type of question and circle the correct box. Translate the question, then
formulate a logical answer.
