CAREER FAIR
VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED
Our career fair for students
in grades 3-5 is rapidly approaching on January 29,
2015. We have had a very
small number of participants to volunteer and need
many exhibitors to make
this a successful event
for our students. Students brought home a
flyer and sign-up for
the career
fair. PLEASE consider
signing up to be an exhibitor and inviting another
career exhibitor to join us
as well.

If you have questions about

the career fair, please contact Gwen Sitsch, school
counselor, at 476-4605 or
by email at
gsitsch@lexrich5.org.

Notes from the Nurse

Sleep keeps us
happy, healthy and
doing our best
Every living thing sleeps,
from the smallest insect to
the largest whale. Some animals sleep as much as 20
hours a day. Wow! While
we dont need as much
sleep, our sleep is just as
important.
Sleep is essential to a childs
health and growth. It promotes alertness, memory
and performance. It is recommended that children
ages 5-12 get 10-11 hours of

Jump Rope for Heart

Our first 2015 Heart
Hero- Dylan
On Tuesday, February
3rd every student will
celebrate living a
heart healthy lifestyle
while jumping rope.
The students will attend JRFH during
their related arts time.
LMES will be jumping rope,
dancing, cheering, and being
a proud supporter of the
American Heart Association.
Students are given the opportunity to become a Heart
Hero by collecting donations for the American Heart

sleep each night.

While
each child is different it is
important to start good sleeping habits at an early age.

Have a bedtime
routine with a light
snack,
brushing
teeth, reading a
book

Start bedtime at the

same time every night

Try relaxing without

TV

Keep bedroom a comfortable temperature

Getting enough sleep helps you
be more creative, pay attention
better, stay in a good mood and

Association. Donation forms

went home this week. Last
year LMES was the #1
school in
South Carolina for
donations
raised from
Hoops for
Heart.
Students
can collect
donations in person (no door
to door) or online. Online
donations have been a great
success. It is easy to do. The
directions are on your donation envelope or you can go
to www.heart.org/jump to
learn how you can help your

fight sickness so you can stay

healthy. Loss of sleep can
cause forgetfulness, daytime
sleepiness, mood changes,
and difficulty paying attention.
