She works with current students to prepare them for careers in engineering and facilitates communication between employers and future employees. Vita also identifies resources for the college and students. She has a background in corporate finance and has spent her career in law firms and finance.
Bryan Kung graduated from UH in 2003 with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering. He has worked for Shell for 11 years in various refinery and upstream roles, including as a controls engineer and in process safety. He is currently managing multiple subsea oil field development projects in the Gulf of Mexico.

Executive Director, Engineering Career and Professional
Development Cullen College of Engineering Vita works with our current students to prepare them for their professional lives after College either in the practicing engineering community or as graduate students. She has the privilege of facilitating the communication between employers and their future employees. Vita also works to identify and bring human and financial resources to the College and our students. Vita grew up in New York City, attended the City University of New York for her B. S. degree, and Columbia University for masters credits. She began her professional career with the law firm of Davis, Polk & Wardwell in New York. Vita has spent most of her professional career in the area of Corporate Finance, as director of finance for OXOCO, Inc. and with large law firms in both Houston and New York City. She is also a Certified Texas Master Naturalist and a Certified Native Landscape Planner.

Bryan graduated from UH in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Electrical Engineering. He has been working for Shell for the past 11 years in various roles from downstream to upstream. Bryan started at the Norco Refinery in Louisiana as a Controls Systems Engineer, and then made it through all the other 6 Shell refineries in the US in operational and process safety roles. He left Louisiana 3 years after Hurricane Katrina to move to Houston, only to experience Hurricane Ike one week after moving. He spent the last 7 years in Houston working on capital projects in the deep water Gulf of Mexico with a few short international stints for new technology development projects. Bryan is currently managing a large team delivering multiple subsea tiebacks going back to a tension leg platform. GO COOGS!
John Vu
Research Design and Development Engineer
Baker Hughes BSME, UH 2012 During the summer of his junior year, John was selected for a summer internship position with Baker Hughes as a Field Engineering Intern in Oklahoma City. He held a CO-OP position at Halliburton as a Research & Design Engineer for the Sperry Drilling department in Houston, Spring 2013. The following summer, he again interned with Baker Hughes, as a Research, Design, and Development Engineering Intern in Houston, where he currently resides as a full time employee. John also worked as an Office Assistant at the University of Houston Engineering Career Center. In his senior year, John was one of four directors of Envir Energy Inc., a company that was created to compete in the M.I.T. Clean Energy Prize Competition. His team placed in the top 15 among more than 80 candidates. John was also a founding father in the Clean Energy Initiative organization. In addition to work and school, he is passionate about automobile modification, traveling, and sports. He is currently training for a triathlon that is set to take place at the end of September, with the ultimate goal of completing an Iron Man next year. Mr. Vu is engaged to his high school sweetheart and is set to marry her in the spring of 2016.
