March 7, 2015 OMFRC Zone Competition Qualifications for Youth Members
January 31, 2015 Train the Coach Day

Dear Juniors, Cadets, Crusaders and Youth Leaders,

We are very excited to announce that St. John Worldwide Cadet Competition and Hong Kong International
Cadet Camp (HKICC) will be taking place in Hong Kong from January 2 10th, 2016!
We are aiming to take 4 teams of 4 youth each from Ontario to take part in this amazing event! With this ambitious
goal for 2016 for our youth, please kindly take note of the important details below.
All interested youth competitors are asked to meet the below Eligibility Requirements for qualifying to represent
Ontario at HKICC:
1) Participate in the Youth Category on March 7th, 2015 at Ontario Medical First Response Competition
(OMFRC)
2) Write a supplementary individual first aid exam on the same day at the OMFRC
3) Be under the age of 18 years on the day of the HKICC competitions
Final selection of HKICC Teams will be based on the individual eligibility and competition results, therefore youth
members must be aware that they may be part of a team consisting of members from different units and regions of
Ontario. Details in regards to logistics and travel itinerary and costs will be shared once teams have been selected.
The OMFRC committee has graciously allowed additional registration slots for Youth teams interested in
qualifications for HKICC. This means that Youth teams will be allowed to compete for both OMFRC and HKICC
qualifications at the same zone competition.
Detailed information about registering for the OMFRC Zone runoffs can be found at
http://omfrc.ca/?page_id=258. We encourage your teams to sign up as soon as possible as registration ends on
February 17th, 2015.
In addition, more training resources can be found on www.cadetsonline.ca under the Manuals, Guidelines,
Resources section in the Patient Care Competitions Folder.
In order to support new and seasoned Coaches and Trainers our team would like to host a Train the Coach Day
on January 31st, 2015 from 10am 4pm at the Community Safety Village of York Region located at Bruces
Mill Conservation Area, 3291 Stouffville Road, Stouffville, Ontario L4A 7X5. We will be inviting a few guest
speakers and trainers to provide you with hands-on training on how to best prepare your teams for the OMFRC and
HKICC competition run offs! Come join us for a day of sharing, learning and practicing how best to run scenarios
for your youth!
