Reproduction
2 clutches per year are possible, up to 9 soft-shelled eggs in total. Incubation
Period at 29C about 50 days. Long pregnancy period.
Temperature
Air temperature between 28-35C, local heat spots up to 45C. Night setback to
room temperature.
Humidity
50-70%
Lighting
Daylight fluorescent tubes, if necessary UV tubes for sufficient UV radiation
We recommend "UV Lamps" or "UV Compact Lamps". "Incandescent Lighting"
for the creation of local heat spots. Species needs a strong illumination. I
recommend using Mercury vapour lamps.
Substrate
Loamy earth with rock structures or river sand.
Cage Furniture
Hideouts, stones, roots, climbing rocks, flat shallow water bowl. Cage substrate
should always be slightly damp in one spot.

Terrarium Size
70x50x50 cm (LxWxH) for 3-4 animals
Food
Insects (e.g. small crickets, grasshoppers, cockroaches, super mealworms, wax
moths, etc.). Vegetarian food like leaves (dandelion, ribwort, clover, Lucerne,
cress, bean sprouts etc.), but also carrots, paprika, zucchini or tomatoes.
Regular additions of "Calcium+D3 and vitamins are necessary.
Comments
Males will constantly fight amongst each other. Therefore a pair or one male and
several females together. Once per day they should be sprayed with lukewarm
water.
