Care Sheet - Bumblebee Toad

Geographical distribution
Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay
Habitat
Tropical rainforest, open, meadow area and under stones and wood
Size
2-3 cm, female bigger than male
Life Expectancy
Over 10 years
Reproduction
Over 2000 eggs, offspring in many cases successful
Temperature
23-26C, night down to 20C, natural temps to 28C, to reach the temperature
and control those heatmats can be used in conjunction with a thermostat.
Humidity
80-90% the use of misters etc. like the lucky reptile Super Rain or Super Fog,
which can be controlled with Humidity Control or Pro Timer.
Lighting
With low UV in combination with the lucky reptile Amphib Sun or UV2.
Substrate
Absorbent substrate like Jungle Bedding in combination with Hydro Drain and
Hydro Fleece to avoid it getting too wet. At one point the substrate should always
be wet, which can be Sphagnum Moss.
Dcor

A roomy Tank with hiding and climbing facilities, additional a structured


Rockwork, planting is possible e.g. Ficus benjamina, F. pumila, as possible large,
flat Water loving plants.
Terrarium Size (for long term care)
30x30x30cm
Food
Live insects (e.g. crickets, grasshoppers and cockroaches). Occasionally
Vitamins and calcium+D3 should be added to the food.
Comments
Peaceful species. Socialization does not cause any problems.
