Market Commentary

Market Indices

The Muscat Securities Market ended in red today; the

benchmark index marginally decreased by 8 points to
close at 6,584.07 points. The Financial index was worst
loser amongst sectoral indices; while, the Industrial
index ended in green. Among the shares, UFCI was top
gainer on announcement of dividends for FY14.
Amongst other gainers, SIHC & DBIH closed up by 4.4%
and 3.6% respectively, while AAIT & GFIC improved by
0.9% each. In addition; GISI & BATP were closed up by
0.7%, and 0.6% respectively. Among the losers, OEIO
was top loser after posting annual results. Amongst
other losers, NBOB, OUIS & BKMB corrected by 2.2%,
1.8% and 1% respectively, while OTEL was declined by
0.6%. However, BKNZ, SUWP & AMAT remained
unchanged today. Out of 38 stocks traded, 17 advanced,
8 declined and 13 remained unchanged. Omani
investors were net buyers, while foreign investors were
net sellers today.
Al Jazeera Steel (ATMI) announced a 14% increase in
Net Profit at RO 5.2 mn for the FY,14 as compared to RO
4.6 mn made in last year.
Oman & Emirates (OEIO) reported an 89% decline in
Net Profit at RO 352 k for FY,14 as compared to RO 3.1
mn made in last year.
Global Financial Inv. (GFIC) posted an 83% decline in
Net Profit at RO 374 k for FY,14 as compared to RO 2.3
mn made in last year.
