BOOGIE NIGHTS (1997)

What germinated from a mockumentary-style short film by
Anderson back in the late 80s became the compelling mixture
of sweeping epic and intense character study of the sun-kissed
1970s porn industry. Starring an incredible ensemble cast with
the likes of Julianne Moore, Burt Reynolds, Don Cheadle, John
C. Reilly, Philip Seymour Hoffman, William H. Macy, Heather
Graham, Luis Guzman, Philip Baker Hall, and Alfred Molina,
BOOGIE NIGHTS is more than a pleasurable experience: its
a big bright shining star of sex in cinema. 2/11
LOLITA (1962)
Humbert Humbert, a divorced British professor of French
literature, travels to small-town America for a teaching position. He allows himself to be swept into a relationship with
Charlotte Haze (Shelly Winters), his widowed landlady, in order
to pursue her 14-year-old daughter, Lolita, with whom he has
fallen hopelessly in love. Made from a double-entendre-filled
script by Nabokov himself, Kubricks road movie/comedy of
manners/Old World-meets-New World satire/tale of erotic
obsession features Peter Sellers in one of his greatest, most
unhinged roles and is shot in beautiful black and white. An

young woman, who was recently released from a mental institution to the care of her overprotective mother and hard-drinking

VHS insanity for only $1.
Godfrey Ho is responsible for the creation of approximately
one-hundred-and-forty-three patchwork ninja movies. They
have titles like BIONIC NINJA and NINJA DEMONS MASSACRE. It would take you approximately two-hundred-andfifteen hours to watch all of these movies. Luckily, Godfrey Ho
was responsible for the creation of only two SOV (shot-on-video) ninja movies -- and weve got the BEST ONE!! AMERICAN COMMANDO NINJA is a life-changing, impossibly unhinged free-for-all with an agenda of desecration against your
senses. A non-American, un-commando, sometimes-ninja who
wears electric blue short-shorts fights a gang of evil ninjas who
utilize germ warfare and hocus pocus. This is just another
way of saying that ninjas wearing Hawaiian shirts will fight
other ninjas wearing Union Jack jogging shorts and a vicious
crime boss named Larry will fall down a hole. It should also be
noted that this is the only ninja movie in existence to showcase
a fist fight between a man and La-Z-Boy recliner. 2/23

HAROLD AND MAUDE (1982)

Black comedies dont come much blacker than this cult favorite
from 1972, and they dont come much funnier, either. It seemed
that director Hal Ashby was the perfect choice to mine a
mother lode of eccentricity from the original script by Colin
Higgins, about the unlikely romance between a death-obsessed
19-year-old named Harold and a life-loving 79-year-old widow
named Maude. 2/7
PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE (1974)
Its a demented slapstick musical tragedy. The great Paul
Williams (who also wrote the music) stars as Swan, a record
producer and talent impresario. Hes Mephistopheles by way
of Phil Spector. De Palma favorite William Finley is tweaked
perfection as Winslow Leach, a young composer who signs a
contract with Swan - not in ink of course - and suffers the consequences. Lovely Jessica Harper (SUSPIRIA) is the romantic
interest in this electronic-gothic masterpiece. The musical numbers set a new high water mark for tastelessness and excess. A
confetti cannon loaded with disposable pop music, black magic,
sex, love, loss and pain - dont miss it! 2/21
RUN LOLA RUN (1999)
A whirlwind race against time, a breathless caper, a twisty
philosophical game, and, when it first appeared, a fresh breath
out of Germany that restored Berlin to its former status as a
great movie location, RUN LOLA RUN is smart pop cinema at

Charmingly funny and heart-warmingly romantic. Billy Wilders
Sabrina takes the traditional Cinderella story line and flips it on
its head in this satirical look at class and romance. Sabrina Fairchild (Audrey Hepburn) is the young daughter of the Larrabee
familys chauffeur. She finds herself smitten with the David
Larrabee all her life only to be completely dismissed by the
oft-married, woman crazy, playboy. Sabrina eventually attends
culinary school in Paris only to return home as an attractive
and sophisticated woman. She quickly garners the attention of
her youthful crush David (William Holden) as well as his older
brother Linus (Humphrey Bogart).
Its our annual Valentines Day tradition to offer up the very
best of cinema with expertly crafted food. And so it is with
great pride that we present this classic romantic comedy for
Alamo audiences to feast their eyes upon while treating their
taste buds to a themed feast of Parisian delicacies.

weatherman who hates nothing more than Groundhog Day.
He detests covering the annual festival in nearby Punxsutawney,
Pa., and he especially despises sharing his name with the towns
celebrated rodent. Phil hopes to get in and out of the small
town as soon as possible, but a blizzard strands him overnight
and Phil wakes up to find out there is no next day.
