The purpose of this article is to inform all teachers about current
models of teaching games in the public schools. The article stresses the importance of the games, tactical awareness, and decision making of a student. Students should know the concept and principle of a game.Increasing levels of physical activity is focused in Teaching Game For Undestanding. The authors noted that skills or techniques that were taught did not used well to the games. Children approached the lessons with low motivation and patience. They were focused on when can we play a game?. They feel that students need to understand the relevance of skills within a game before they learn the specific skills themselves. Students should enjoy themselves and learn some knowledges while playing games. Game form is to provide a guidance for a teacher and also a simplified version of the adult game based on age and experience. The game played by children almost same with the adult version of the game. Students should understand the rules of the games to be played create the shape of the games because the rules of the game will affect the tactics to be used in a game. Tactical awareness is learning how to use the tactics in different situations. Tactics must be changed to meet the needs of the game. After learning tactics, students are now ready to make an appropriate decisions based on what to do? and how to do it. The children are ready to perform their skill execution. Students should be measured on appropriateness of response as well as efficiency of techniques. In my opinion, this model is appropriate to be used widely by Malaysian teachers. Some children will never be able to play because they will never gain the skill level suitable of them. These authors take the point of view that the task of a teacher is to present a game which children can enter with some of the skills already developed and make improvement through understanding what the game is about. Rules and equipment used in games are modified to ensure that all children can play and gain their thinking into the games they play. It is important of the teacher to give a careful thought of the safety of game surroundings, the number of players and the equipment to be used in a game. Teaching Games for Understanding not just make the active involvement of the students, but also let the students know how to respond quickly if facing a critical situation. This model give the students more freedom and improvement which can achieve a higher target. I am glad to know this model which can help me in my future career to teach a student of subject Physical Education. Students are fun for playing is easier for understanding too. This curriculum model will encourage more students to get involved in games and can lead to a healthy lifestyle. As a teacher, not only teach in a class with theoretical talking ,it also have to give the pratical sessions which students can play around outside the class.
