Description

In area clearance, when Pattern Type for an operation

is set to VoluMill, it fails to avoid some of the islands
defined using sketches.
When machining curve features, the parameters for
assigning Side allowance appear disabled for the
Operation
Contour Mill Operations when Toolpath Center is set to
With compensation.
For the specific assembly, when the existing Contour
Toolpath Mill toolpaths are regenerated, the ramp movements
are lost and some unnecessary moves are added.
Toolpath

In the specific part intended for machining on a MillTurn machine, when Generate Operation Plan is done
Operation
a new turn tool of the same type and orientation as
the one existing in the active toolcrib is added.
When CAMWorks 2013 SP2.1 is loaded as Add-In
within SOLIDWORKS 2012 SP0 or SP4, the Copy
System
Settings Wizard does not save anything at all. It saves
and works correctly if CAMWorks 2013 SP2.1 is loaded
as Add-In within SOLIDWORKS 2013 & 2014 Releases.
When CNC Compensation options are set to ON and
toolpath center is set to without compensation, the
Toolpath Contour Mill Toolpath generated for machining the
chamfer is not offset properly to match with the
generated G codes.
CAMWorks is not reading the Cutting Conditions file
Wire EDM
(.ecc)
For the specific part, the posted G code output for
Post
EDM machine has an error.
Provision should be made in the CAMWorks XML setup
Setup sheet sheets to output the Length and Diameter offset for
the tools.
For the specific part with a tapered pocket feature,
when the Generate toolpath command is executed,
Toolpath
the existing toolpaths get deleted. Also no new
toolpaths get generated.
In the specific parts when Calculate Safe CNC Comp
Toolpath" is enabled some of the contour mill
Toolpath operations with CNC compensation set to ON and
Toolpath Center set as Without compensation do not
generate correct toolpaths.
For Contour Mill operations, when Entry type is set to
Entry drill, the Strategy dropdown list should be
UI
disabled as assigning a strategy doesnt make any
effect on the Entry Drill operation.

Toolpath

When the plane entity used to define the Mill Part

Setup is modified, and if the sketches of the
avoid/contain area are created using the same plane
then, upon doing a rebuild the Avoid/Contain Area is
not updated.
The CAMWorksView application downloaded from the
internet or installed from the DVD is not working.
Turn Drilling and Center Drill operations are always
retracting to absolute preset even if Retract strategy
is set to NONE.
In CAMWorks 2014, the Contour Mill toolpath
generated for a slot feature does not machine the
feature completely. This is seen with slots having
fillets. This was working correctly in previous versions
of CAMWorks.
When user generates an XML based Setup Sheet
using the CAMWorksView template, he/she is not able
to rotate or pan the 3D view of the models in the
Setup Sheet.
For the specific Mill part, if the start point of the
Leadin/Leadout of the Contour Mill operation cannot
be modified by the user.
For the specific turn part, when a Turn feature is
interactively inserted from a sketch then,
SOLIDWORKS crashes.
In Turn and Mill-Turn mode, when existing Tool Cribs
are saved to the TechDB, the tool holder orientations
are not saved. Consequently, the default tool holder
orientation (Up-right) is gets assigned.
For an assembly, if the stock for any subsequent
configuration is defined from an STL file, then Stock
orientation is not maintained when switching between
Configurations.
In CAMWorks Mill-Assembly mode, there is a provision
to define assembly components as fixture
components. These components are displayed during
toolpath simulation. However, on switching between
assembly configurations, the Fixture definitions
disappear from the toolpath simulation.
API command
"DefineMultiSurfaceFeature_FaceColor.swp" gives
errors when executed.
For the specific Mill part, when the Show Difference
command is executed after Toolpath Simulation,
CAMWorks freezes.
For the specific Mill part, toolpath cannot be
generated for the Contour Mill operation defined for a
Part Perimeter-Open Pocket feature when:
a) The Tool diameter is in the range of 0.254 to
0.433.
b) The Depth processing option is not set to Zigzag.

For the specific assembly, the display of the coordinate system is different when the user highlights
Operation the operation node and the part setup node. This
happens when the origin is defined as "Part setup
Origin."
On generating toolpath for Contour Mill operation for
Curve feature which was defined from multiple offset
sketch entities, CAMWorks crashes. If toolpath is
Toolpath
generated for a group of multiple curve features, each
defined from a single offset sketch; then CAMWorks
does not crash.
For a group feature when rebuild is called after any
Rebuild
changes in the part then the toolpaths are not
regenerated as per the updated features.
For the specific Mill Part, the feature display in the
graphics area for contour mill operations is incorrect.
Features
It was displaying correctly in the CAMWorks 2013
version.
For the specific Mill part with grouped features
Features recognized using MfgView, the Lead in / Lead out
points are not identical leading to confusion.
For Threading operations, when the infeed type is set
to Angled then, the calculated infeed angle is such
Toolpath that the thread insert will wear out faster. The infeed
angle should be adjusted such that the thread insert
will have a longer life.
In turn when the Z start of an operation equals the Z
Toolpath end of the preceding operation then, no toolpath is
generated for the current operation.
If the Save Operation Plan command is executed for a
Wire EDM operation with Taper angle of more than 3
degrees, CAMWorks crashes. This crash occurs since a
Operation
limit is set within TechDB for Taper Angle. There
should be no limit set within TechDB for this
parameter.
For the specific Mill part with Multi Surface feature,
the Z level home position of the Z Level Toolpath
could not be modified as the associated parameters in
TechDB
NC tab were disabled. The Features and Operations
section of the default TechDB needs to be updated to
resolve this error.
When the Units are changed (MMGS to IPS or vice
versa), in the F/S tab for an operation, the value for
Operation
the Surface Speed (SFM/SMM) should get converted
and not the Spindle speed.
For the specific part, when CL data is generated, the
Cutter compensation ON & OFF [CUTCOM/ ON and
Toolpath
CUTCOM/ OFF] reference the same line segment. This
behavior is incorrect.
In Mill mode, when Recognize Features command is
executed from the context menu of a Mill Part Setup,
Features
it causes the deletion of an identical Mill Setup. This
was working correctly in CAMWorks 2013 SP1 version.

Within TechDB, while editing Mill Tool cribs, user is

unable to add a new sub-station to an existing tool
TechDB
station. An error message The Station no. that you
have entered is already used. Please select another
number. Is displayed.
For a Turn Cut-off operation, if the Auto option in the
Retract group box of the NC tab is checked, then the
Toolpath resultant rapid retract moves gouge the part and
stock. When the Auto option is unchecked, correct
toolpath is generated.
For the specific turn part, finish groove toolpath can
be generated using a user defined turn insert. But
Toolpath
when the same insert is used for rough groove
operation, no toolpath is generated.
In the TechDB, the default value assigned to the Max.
Stepover parameter of an Area Clearance operation
Operation with Adaptive Pattern is not reflected in the UI within
the Pattern tab of the Operation parameters dialog
box.
In Turn and mill-Turn mode, first rapid move starting
point for Turn drill operations are based on post's
Operation
absolute preset rather than the previous operation's
safe index position.
In Mill Assembly mode, when fixture components have
been defined, CAMWorks does not consider these
Assembly fixtures while generating rapid moves from one
feature to another. This leads to gouging of
clamps/fixtures.
For the specific part, spring passes for the contour mill
operations are not generated with the tool type set to
Toolpath
Corner Round. This happens when the link between
passes is set to stay down on the lead in tab.
For the specific Turn part, the Turn Rough operation
gouges the part. This occurs as the Lead angle
Toolpath
defined the Leadin/Out tab of the operation has not
been considered for one pass.
For the specific Mill part, when the pattern for the
Toolpath Rough Mill operation is set to Offset Roughing, the
resultant toolpath gouges the part.

Rebuild

For the specific part, within EDM Settings, when

Subprogram increment is assigned as 1, it misses
some of the subprograms numbers.
Add a variable SOLIDWORKS_FILENAME in the Post
environment so that users can parse the
SOLIDWORKS file name with extension in the output
NC code.
For the specific part, if user edits the Center Drill
operation created from MS Hole feature, then
SOLIDWORKS and CAMWORKS crash. Also, after
Rebuild, the Associate MS Hole feature does not work
correctly.

For the specific part, the output Post file gives

additional output in Z for Drilling operation which
Post
contains many combined features. These combined
features consist of grouped features. Additional Z is
seen when retracting from two grouped features.
On both turn and mill/turn machines, the canned
thread cycle output does not include the start length
Toolpath
value when on a sub-spindle. This causes the tool to
rapid into the material.
In English version of CAMWorks Help repository, in the
webpage with navigation path Mill>>3 Axis Mill
Cycles>>Pencil Mill>>Pattern tab, the 3 green pop-up
Translation
text in the first paragraph (Parallel, Trace and Mixed)
work perfectly. But they do not work in other

During execution of Step Through toolpath, the Coordinate point that represents either the tool nose
center radius or theoretical point is not displaying
correctly for sub-spindle operations.
The API macro used to rename all features does not
rename those features which have a SUB- prefix.
For the specific part, a Contour Mill operation has
been defined for a Part Perimeter - Open Pocket
feature. The Leadin Point defined for this operation
should be activated on the inner boundary of this
feature.
For the specific part, in contour mill when the rest
machining is used along with a contain area, the
resultant toolpath machines outside the defined
contain area.
In Turn mode, the Leadout amount is not reflected in
the Turn toolpaths if the "Back face of stock offset"
parameter defined for the stock is less than 0.6mm.
In machine definition, when Display Cutter Comp on
1st move option is checked, then in the contour mill
operation the display of the rapid moves between
features is wrong. This happens when toolpath center
is set to Without comp.
In MES library, when tool is added for turning
operations, and tool library is updated in TechDB, the
added tool is not seen in the turn tools. It works fine in
Mill tooling.
For the specific part with multiple circular through
pocket features, the Rough Mill toolpath gouges the
part.
Wire EDM post error as settings for new Wire EDM
machine definitions are not retained under certain
conditions in CWEdmMachineSetupx64.exe.
When the Pattern type for an operation is set to
VoluMill and user tries to define a Rapid Plane, an
error message is displayed unless the Rapid plane is
set to above 1 inch.

For the specific part, when the Upper Z Limits of the

Contour Mill Operation (generated for the Counter
Toolpath
Bore Hole Group feature) is set to Top of Stock, the
resultant toolpath is incorrect.
For the specific part with multi surface feature, the
Strategy parameter assigned for Constant Stepover
Operation
operation in TechDB is not parsed to the operation in
the CAMWorks UI.
In CAMWorks 2013, the X and Y Gauge Offset
Operation parametric values get swapped in the Station page of
Tool tab of Operation Parameters dialog box.
For specific part, the 5 Axis toolpaths generates
incorrectly when generating toolpath for the entire
Toolpath
part. Generating the individual setup works as
expected.
In CAMWorks 2013, for the specific part, the Roughing
toolpath for the pocket feature gouges the part. If the
Toolpath default Depth Processing option in the Roughing tab is
changed to By level, then no collision is observed.
This was working correctly in CAMWorks 2012 version.
When the specific Turn part for which CAM data was
generated using CAMWorks 2012 is opened in
Toolpath CAMWorks 2013 version, the Face Rough toolpaths
generated using user-defined Turn inserts are
incorrect.

Toolpath

API

For the specific Assembly, when the Generate

Toolpath command is executed from the Command
Manager, toolpaths are not generated for certain
Thread Mill operations. On executing the command
again, these operations are generated.
For the specific Assembly file, when user tries to add
fixture components to the Setup, it takes more than 8
minutes to add. This is a SOLIDWORKS 2012 API
performance limitation.
