Timeliness
Being On Time
"Be very careful, then, how you livenot as unwise but as wise, making the
most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be
foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is."
Ephesians 5:15-17 (NIV)

In order for accounting information to be useful, it must contain certain

qualities and meet certain standards. Among these standards, comes
timeliness. As defined by the world wide web, timeliness is a quality subset of
relevance. If you do not present accounting information in a timely manner,
its usefulness to investors and managers is diminished or completely
eliminated.
Timeliness is deeply associated in our daily lives. For example, if there
is a major test next Friday, you need to know about that now so you can
study for it. If someone tells you about the test after you take it, the
information is useless. As we face the beginning of the day, we already need
timely information about the day, the weather, the world's situation and
almost about everything that there is to know. We visit the internet, watch
out for the news or listen to the radio; And, this just shows the importance of
having information on time.
As they say, there is a time for everything. There is a time to work and
a time to play; a time to invest and a time to reap; a time to sleep and a time
to wake up. But amidst all these times, to live in order, we have to place our
actions and decisions within the limits of time and seasons. In our spiritual
journey, timeliness is also an essential thing. Just like how important it is for
managers to have timely information, It is also very important for God to
know our decision on whether to accept Him or not.
As of now, God is still waiting for our decision and He will wait for us as
long as He could. But, there will come a time when God will close all doors
and even if we decide to follow Him, our decision is no longer relevant to Him.
This year, He has given us one year, made up of twelve months, fifty-two
weeks and three hundred and sixty-five days. As a response, we must use
that time wisely in order for us to be on time not just in our daily activities
but also in deciding on what side we're on.

Prayer: Our Father, as we go on through this day and as we do our activities,

will thou help us to decide to follow you today so that we would be in time for
your coming. May it be that we would realize that time waits for no one and
that your time is near. We ask for thy guidance each and everyday, and for
the forgiveness of our sins, in the name of Jesus, Amen.
