your mystery object (sounds, feels, looks, tastes, smells)
Prepare notecards and the object or picture of the object to play the
Guessing Game in class.

Oral Presentation Evaluation Criteria


Waits for the audiences attention.
Greets audience and introduces self.
Uses an attention-getting sentence to set up the mystery
object.
Employs 5 complete sentences that accurately describe
the mystery object.
Concludes presentation by explaining why the mystery
object was chosen.
Maintains good eye contact with the audience and
Avoids distracting movements (swaying, giggles, leaning
against the board, etc.).
Speaks in a clear, audible voice.
Applies good grammar skills and correct pronunciation.
Demonstrates preparation and practice.

1. Using the Bubble Map from your oral presentation, write a descriptive
paragraph about the mystery object.
2. Include 5 complete sentences in your paragraph (topic sentence + three detail
sentences + concluding sentence).
3. Write your paragraph on loose-leaf paper in CURSIVE writing.
4. Hand in a cover page, the bubble map, the paragraph, a picture of the mystery
object and a copy of the rubric in a manila folder. (NO plastic folders!)

Written Work Evaluation Criteria


Description is written in a paragraph format on loose-leaf
paper.
Paragraph includes a topic sentence that introduces the
mystery object.
Paragraph uses at least 3 descriptive sentences (ex: It is
the color of an unripe raspberry)
Paragraph includes a concluding sentence.
All sentences support the topic.
Each sentence is capitalized correctly and has an
appropriate ending punctuation.
Each sentence is written in a clear logical order.
There are no errors in spelling.
Paragraph is written in neat and legible cursive writing.
Completed project includes a cover page, the bubble
map, the paragraph and a picture of the mystery object
and a copy of the rubric in a manila folder.
