Hi Travis,
Below is the e-mail I received from Roger Waters' publisher
granting me permission to use the line "What God
Wants God Gets God Help Us All" in "Prince of Pieces". I assume this
approval is satisfactory for using the line, but if not, let me know.
Also, Jello Biafra provided a blurb for the back cover of the
book. It reads: " I can't believe no one thought of this before !
- Or were they afraid ? Sure to offend all the right people."
Additionally, Jello indicated he'd be interested in making Prince
available through his record company's (Alternative Tentacles)
website. I think that there would probably be a lot of overlap
between fans of Jello/The Dead Kennedys and people who would be into
"Prince of Pieces".
I've composed a synopsis for the back cover. It reads as follows:
After two thousand years of being exploited by purveyors of
greed, violence and hypocrisy, Jesus returns with a vengeance.
The Son of God is mad as hell and directs His rage at sinners and
religious hypocrites, striking them down with biblically inspired
justice. Not only has Jesus stopped turning the other cheek, but like
all who return from the dead, He has acquired a taste for human flesh.
Only one thing is certain in the shattered world the rampaging Christ
leaves in His wake - - it will take more than nails to stop Him this
time !
"Prince of Pieces" is a savagely funny social satire cloaked in
horror about the second coming of Christ. Its author raises his
sword-pen against the malevolent forces that hide behind pious masks.
