Introduction
The following instructions will guide you through the process of inserting files and images into a
Microsoft Word 2013 document.
Process Description
This process allows the user to add visual appeal or representation to a document.
Materials
Computer
Microsoft Word 2013
Desired image to insert
Desired file to insert
Directions
For inserting an Image:
1. Open your Word document from Microsoft Word 2013.
6. Click INSERT and the image will be inserted into your document.
7. If the image is not in the correct position, click and drag it to desired spot.
*If you want to put the image next to a block of text, click on the image and then
click on the button that pops up next to the image to open the menu to select the desired
style of text wrapping.
Text Wrapping
1. Once your image is inserted into the document, right click the
document.
2. Hover the cursor over WRAP TEXT, then select the desired
wrapping text format.
4. Find the location and select the desired file to insert into the document.
Troubleshooting
Issue
Solution
Place your cursor over the image and left click. Place
your cursor over one of the squares in the corners.
Click and drag the image until it is the desired size.
Place your cursor over the image, then click and drag
the image to the desired location.
Place your cursor over the image and right click. In the
drop-down menu, select Size and Position. At the
bottom of the window, click the button labeled Reset,
then click OK.
Image is flipped/inverted
Place your cursor over the image and left click. Place
your cursor over one of the squares in the corners.
Click and drag the image towards the opposite side of
the picture from the box you selected until the image
flips. Repeat until the image is correct.
