OFFER OF SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ACADEMIC SESSION 2015/2016
The State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) is the only public higher learning institution in
Zanzibar established by Act No. 8 of the House of Representatives of 1999. Since its inception in
2002 it has been expanding in academic programs as well as student enrolment. Its vision is to be
the most preferred University in the Eastern Africa region.
SUZA intends to offer Masters Degree scholarships at Manipal University in India for
candidates wishing to undertake the following areas of study:

MSc Anatomy (1 post, 2 years)

MD Physiology (1 post, 3 years)
MSc Pharmacology (1 post, 2 years)
MD Pathology (1 post, 3 years)

After completion of their studies, qualified candidates will serve as academics in the School of
Health and Medical Sciences of the State University of Zanzibar.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Applicants must be residents of Zanzibar with Zan ID.

Applicants should not exceed 35 years old at the commencement of the academic
session.

Applicants must submit their certified copies of birth certificates.

Certified copies of academic testimonials must be attached.

Applicants must provide Police Clearance Certificates along with their applications.

Applicants must fulfill other requirements set by SUZA such a training bond, etc.

Applicants should indicate mode of communication, e.g Telephone, e-mail, etc.

Holders of Bachelors Degree in Doctor of Medicine

(MD) or relevant field of study with a GPA of above 3.5 or equivalent from a
recognized institution (for MD programs).
Holders of Bachelors of Science with Chemistry and Biology combination with
a GPA above 3.5 or equivalent from a recognized institution. (For MSc
Programs)
Applicants in their final year of studies can also be considered if they satisfy
condition (i) or (ii) above, and only if they guarantee to begin their studies by
July 2015

Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the CV will
necessitate to legal action

Applications failing to meet the above conditions will not be considered.
