MS1300 Signal Level Meter measures
individual channels, plus, it features a scan
mode in which the levels of all channels are
shown on one display. The meter tunes from
45 to 550 MHz, with options to extend the range
from 5 to 890 MHz. It can display measurement
results at a single frequency or for a specific
channel.
When tuned to a channel, the display indicates
the levels of the video and audio carriers, and the
difference between the levels. A special channel
plan building mode enables the operator to
designate which channels are active. Once
channels are defined on one MS1300 they can be
"cloned," or channel plans may be created in
StealthWare, the Windows based data
management package for Stealth products, and
then downloaded to multiple MS1300s.
To document results, any screen can be
dumped to a serial printer (Wavetek P-Stealth
Printer). A "Quick Check" key lets the operator
quickly verify that all levels are within userdefined limits, or if any are outside the limits, it
provides a list of those signals that crossed the
limit. This feature can be used to determine
whether or not a subscriber connection meets
specifications.

Wide Tuning Range

The MicroStealth MS1300 tunes from 45 to

550 MHz, and frequency extension options are
available to extend the range to 5 to 890 MHz.
Channel plans are built in for international
standards. The operator can easily adapt the
channel plan to an individual system by indicating
which channels are active. In addition to tuning
by channel, the operator can enter a specific

MicroStealth MS1300
frequency for measurement. Once
the channel plan is defined for one
unit, the operator may connect
other units and copy the channel
plan from one unit to another.
Alternatively, a MicroStealth
channel plan can be created in
StealthWare and downloaded to as
many MS1300s as desired.
Measurement Displays

The MicroStealth MS1300s

high resolution LCD provides
unparalleled ease of measurement,
including both a comprehensive
single channel display, and a scan
display that shows all carrier levels
at once.
The single channel display
shows the video and audio carrier
levels and the difference between
the levels. The tilt display provides a display of six channels that
updates in less than a second. The
scan display shows all user-defined
video carriers, and a unique limit
check feature quickly checks the
results against user-defined limits.

Tilt Mode

Multiple Channel Plans

The MS 1300 stores channel

plans that you have built and
edited. This is convenient if you
use it for more than one plant. You
can quickly select the correct
channel plan for the plant at which
you are working.

Full Scan Mode

The LCD backlight makes

measurements easier to read in crawl
spaces and behind TVs, yet it's easy
to see in bright sunlight. The
MS1300 also measures scrambled
channels accurately.
Installation Check (4)

Single Channel Mode

All screens are actual size

out of tolerance, an "x" will be

indicated.
Pressing a soft key provides
more detail by bringing up a list of
all channels. Passing channels have
a "4" in the right hand column,
while failing channels have an "x."
The channel plan can be configured to reflect tiering, and the
installer will be able to quickly
verify that the relevant premium
channels are activated or trapped
as appropriate.

Pressing the "4" key provides an

installation status check according
to FCC or user-defined limits. Up
to four different limits can be
configured: tap, ground block,
subscriber drop, and custom.
The results are displayed in a list
indicating which paramenters are
out of tolerance. If all levels are
within limits, a "4" will be
indicated in the far right column for
each parameter. If any parameter is

Signal Level Measurement Logging

With the MS 1300, you can store

installation checks that you have
performed throughout the day. You
can also store scan and tilt
measurements. Each file is time
and date stamped and can be
recalled later for viewing on the
LCD screen. When viewing a file,
you can adjust the screen settings
the same as when you are viewing a
"live" measurement. Using the
built-in serial port, you can print
files and even upload them to
StealthWare for further analysis
and archiving.
Auto Tests

Automated tests are easy with

the MS 1300 and provide a
convenient way of acquiring proofof-performance compliance data.
Tests can be executed immediately
or scheduled over a period of time.
To conserve battery life, the unit
shuts itself off between scheduled
intervals. When configuring an
Auto Test, you can record
information about the location at
which the test is being performed.
Files can be created for commonly
tested locations so you need only
enter the information once. Auto
Tests results are time, date, and
temperature stamped and can be
viewed on the LCD screen. Limits
are applied to the measurement
data with out-of-tolerance
conditions concisely indicated. You
can print a test report for each
interval or a comprehensive 24 hour
report that summarizes data
collected from up to four intervals.
Auto Test result files can be
uploaded to StealthWare.

No more excuses due to weather. The MicroStealth's rugged construction and water-resistance makes it an
ideal testing tool for use in all environments and conditions.

In addition to built-in channel

plans for countries all over the world,
the MicroStealth meets the needs of
technicians worldwide via its
innovative icon based operator
interface. Accurate measurements
can be made on NTSC or PAL format
video modulated signals.
