Lutz Hbner was born in 1964 in Heilbronn and grew up in the vineyard.

In 1983 he
completed his schooling and studied German literature , philosophy and sociology in
Mnster. After the civil service , he began an acting training at the University of Music
and Theatre in Saarbrcken. At the Saarland State Theatre and at the State Theater in
Karlsruhe, he worked as an actor. Then he looked at the Rhenish State Theatre Neuss and
the theater of the state capital Magdeburg as an actor and director. Since 1996 he has been
a freelance writer and director in Berlin, where he lives with his wife and child. 2002
