Diploma of Higher Education (Level 5) Business Studies at the University West of England
4 A/AS-Levels Including ICT, Business Studies and Psychology

Education:

3 Years at the University West of England in Bristol, doing a variety of subjects from Finance,
Marketing, Organizational Analysis, Economics of international business. Use of Microsoft
programs and PCs were essential and continued use has improved my abilities.

2 years at sixth form where I studied Business Studies, ICT, Psychology and Statistics.
Extracurricular activities such as monitoring various sections of the school and helping the younger
classes with reading once or twice a week. Was a member of the football team and participated in a
number of sports day activities for my house.

Work Experience:
March 2012 Ongoing:
Tribal Group PLC, I currently work as an administrator for Tribal Group, I am responsible for running
the administration side of HMP and MoJ contracts which amount to millions of pounds. My main duty
is to assist a number of staff and probations to ensure that together we are running a smooth project and
everyone is meeting their requirements. I run reports on a weekly basis that help senior management
and probation trusts monitor performance and show where improvement needs to be made. I run a
monthly report, going direct to senior management and finance, to detail the performance of the project
from a finance point of view it is my job to inform them through analysis of the data any financial risk
the company may incur due to under performance on the project. I also run general administration
duties such as taking/making phone calls, recording data onto a computer system and recording
financial data to ensure that contracts are running at scheduled spend. I liaise with a number of
subcontractors on an ongoing basis in order to meet project requirements with spending and
performance. During the month strict deadlines are placed on the majority of my work which I
consistently hit.
November 2011
Film Course, 3 week film course with the Princes Trust for the M Shed documenting the history of
youth culture in Bristol shown in December 2011 to 200 industry professionals. A documentary film
lasting over 40 minutes with dramatic and factual elements. During the 3 weeks I was involved in
directing and scripting my own scene. I also did some work in front of the camera, post production,
producing as well as planning and presenting ideas to the group.

October/November 2011
Work Experience at Icon Films, 2 week work placement, unpaid, with a major independent
production company, I experienced life in a busy media environment, I was shown the ropes on many
professional programs such as Final Cut Pro. I was working with important items, such as masters tapes
and very expensive technology. I had a range of jobs and experience, I was involved in editing, time
coding, logging, post runs, transcribing, checking tapes for errors and setting up expensive equipment.
August 2010 July 2011
Internet Assessor for L1onbridge, home working job via internet. L1onbridge is an outsourcing
company used by Google to assist with internet searches made by people around the world, rating the
relevance of web pages, videos, images etc. My rating and feedback determines the priority of the web
result within Google. This position has enabled me to have a closer attention to detail and has also made
me aware of the importance of online marketing and its effect on consumers. The program was
monitored monthly to ensure a high level of quality throughout L1onbridges workforce; during this
process I exceeded their expectations throughout with a high level of consistency.
September 2005 2010
Co-operative, as a shop assistant working weekly during secondary school and over 20 hours a week
during holidays, on occasions I ended up training new staff and managing the store, my duties involved
manning the only till in the shop during peak times, stocking the shelves at the same time when quieter
in the shop and assisting the manager in daily duties such as stock taking and end of day close down.
This experience has helped my improve my multi-tasking skills exponentially as well as prioritizing
tasks to a high standard.
General Interests/Skills:
I have a strong understanding of IT and the internet; I have been doing ICT related courses now for
10 years and gained valuable knowledge and skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc. as well as using
ICT in both jobs, I have worked with computers from a very young age and during A-levels worked
using Dreamweaver, Gantt and various other useful tools. I have strong typing skills, with a word
per minute rate of well over 60.

I have volunteered a number of times for work in the film industry I worked for the week during
the Encounters Film Festival in Bristol helping with Office Administration and assisting with social
events during the fesitval. I have also twice volunteered as a location assistant on major Film and
TV productions first of all on Mariah Mundi and the Midas Box starring Sam Neill, Martin Sheen
and Lena Headey. I then volunteered for a week on Doc Martin where I had to organise and direct
the main actors (Martin Clunes) and director (Nigel Cole) where they were needed during the day.

I obtained the 2nd highest added value between my GCSEs and end of my A-Levels for Business
Studies in the 10 years the course has run at my sixth form, this shows my willingness to learn and
improve on my work, needing a high mark in my final Business Studies exam to get an A I
managed to get 93%, in the hardest exam, the mark being in the top 1% in the country
