shortest month of the year we have much
going on here at Learn and Play!
This month, we will be completing 100
days of school, can you believe it?!

100th Day of School

Takes place on Thursday, February 5th,
2015
On the hundredth day of school children will
be working on projects that help children learn
how to count to 100. Teachers will also have
hands on activities to help children learn the
value of 100.

Valentines Day Celebration

Takes place on Friday, February 13th, 2015
Children will exchange Valentines with their
classmates. Name lists for each classroom will be
emailed out. We ask that parents refrain from
bringing any candy or sweets. Valentines must be
brought for the entire class.

Ground Hog Day

Takes place on Monday, February 2 nd , 2015
February is the month where Punxsutawney Phil, the
ground hog, will leave his burrow at 7:25 a.m. February
2nd at Gobbler's Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to
observe the weather conditions and look for his shadow.
He will then make his prediction for the remainder of
winter.

History Month
Takes place February 1 st -28 th , 2015

African American History Month reflects on and honors

the African-American experience from the times of
slavery through the present. We all will join in paying
tribute to the generations of African Americans and
their great achievements.

Chinese New Year

Takes place on Monday, February 19 th , 2015

This Year the Chinese New Year falls on February 19th
.According to the Chinese astrology this year is the Year of
Goat. The Goat comes 8th in the Chinese zodiac.

As a kind reminder: When pulling in and out of

the school parking lot, please take pre-caution
and drive in very slowly (no faster than 5 MPH)
as parents and children are passing by.
Speeding in the parking lot is not permitted
and can result in many unwanted
consequences.
Please also be aware that we have a ONE WAY
parking lot; there is only one entrance and one
exit. Please always scan for children and
vehicles. Also, for the safety of everyone,
please do not allow your children to play or run
in the parking lot. Please take extra precaution
when picking up between 4:30 pm 6:00 pm.
We have provided more lighting and speed
bumps outside in the parking lot for you and
your child's safety, so please be aware of your
surroundings.

Learn and Play Montessori School uses Facebook as a
form of a mass communication to Parents. We post
pictures and videos of your child(ren) on this social media
website to connect with you. We only "friend" parents
whose children attend Learn and Play Montessori School
on Peralta.
Please do keep in mind that all the photos and videos that
are taken in school will be posted on Facebook. Parents
may tag or share photos/videos. If you do not want your
childs pictures or videos posted on Facebook, please
inform Administration.
