KSB pumps limited is one of the leading pump manufacturing companies in the
world. It is basically a German company. The products are pumps and valves. The
manufacturing scope ranges from simple domestic, submersibles to boiler feed
pump, high head pumps, pumps for petrochemical industries (API Standard) and
pumps for nuclear power plants. The integrated management systems in KSB
Pumps Ltd. meets the requirements of Quality Management System- ISO
9001:2008, Environmental Management System- ISO 14001:2004 and Safety
Management System- OHSAS 18001:2007 (Implementation progressive).
Mine is a project division with high level of customization available in pumps
which makes procurement even more challenging.

Graduate Engineer Trainee (Purchase); handling day to day

procurement activity for bough out engineering items (Fasteners and Machined
Components category).
ROLE
AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
Handling day to day procurement activities such as releasing Purchase Orders,
taking follow up, manage urgencies etc.
Obtaining quotations with detailed price break up for required item from
competent suppliers.

Crosschecking the quoted price by going through the detailed price break up and
comparing it with my own costing calculations.
Negotiating with the competent vendor to get best possible price for the
particular.
Taking continuous follow up to know the condition of order processing so as to
arrange the on-time delivery.
Pushing the vendor to meet our requirements, in case of urgencies and
maintaining smooth supply of material.
To monitor suppliers performance on the basis of on-time delivery, cost
competitiveness, quality, handling urgencies etc.
Coordinating between Quality Management Department and the suppliers
quality management so as to meet our Quality norms.

Coordinate with P&A / Engineering / QM and MRP to achieve timely

deliveries of various orders.
Regularization of rejection of material, if any.
Identifying a potential supplier and developing it for organizational benefits.

Develop alternative sources; implement departmental objectives such as

cost effective, consistent quality and on time deliveries for various items.
Coordinating for Quality Audits / inspections/ third party inspection at supplier
end.

UG PROJECT TITLE: DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF ROTATING BEAM
FATIGUE TESTING MACHINE.
The aim of the project is to develop the understanding of fatigue and test the
endurance limit of a material. Wherein, Standard specimen is tested against a
specified load and no. of revolutions, for fatigue failure of the loaded specimen.
