    year,bothofusreallyenjoyedAPUnitedStatesHistory.WhenourAPUSH
    teachersuggestedwelookintoWayneWheeler,ourinterestwaspiqued.Upon
    doingsomeinitialresearch,wedecidedwewouldactuallyenjoythetopic.We
    rememberedalittlebitabouttheProhibitionera,butitwasmostlyjustthelaws
    passed(18thand21stAmendments).Frompopculturereferences,wethoughtof
    ProhibitionasaphenomenaltimeinAmericanhistorythatwasmostlydefinedby
    speakeasies,bootleggers,andorganizedcrime.Thus,webeganourresearch.
    Duetoourcontrastingavailabilities,wedecideditwouldbebestifweboth
    didseparateresearchforacoupleweeks.Wethencamebacktogethertodiscuss
    whatwehadlearnedandcomparednotes.Thisactuallyturnedouttobeareally
    gooddecisionsincewebothfocusedondifferentaspectsofthethemeandour
    knowledgeofthetopicsimplybroadened.Wereallywantedtomakesurewe
    understood
    why

    ourresearchonProhibitionasawhole.FromunderstandingProhibition,wewere
    betterabletounderstandtheimportanceofWheelerswork.Agoodchunkofour

    university.Wewereabletofindqualityprimaryandsecondarysources,aswell
    asourmostprizedsecondarysource,

    Wedecidedtodoawebsiteinstead,sinceitwouldbeasimilarformattothatofa
    documentary.Whenitcametoorganizingourresearch,wedecidedtomake
    differentpagesforallofthesubtopicswefoundofrelevance.Doingawebsite
    turnedouttobeareallygoodideaforusbecausewereallyenjoyedbeingableto
    utilizepictures,videos,andquotestoemphasizeWheelersleadershiprolein
    implementingthe18thAmendmentaswellashislegacythatremainstoday.
    WayneWheelerwasarguablythemostimportantandinfluentialpersonin
    theearly1900s.HisimpactintheAntiSaloonLeaguemadeitthemosteffective

    andpowerfulprohibitionistandpoliticalpressuregroupever.Hewasableto
    unseatcountlessantiprohibitionpoliticiansthroughouthisyearsintheASLand
    evenwasabletocontroltheCongressaswellasacoupleofPresidents.Without
    him,Prohibitionwouldhaveneverbecomeanationalreality.Heispersonally
    creditedforthedevelopmentofpressurepolitics,apoliticaltacticthatisusedto
    thisday,throughtheuseofmassmediainordertoapplypressuretopoliticians.
